Where did you buy a light up clock and is there a plug for it?

I just got back from our 4 day cruise two weeks ago, and I had bought a cheap travel clock from Walmart, but in order to light it up you had to squeeze the sides of it. Thats not fun in the middle of the night. So, I need your ideas...did you bring a light up one that you plug into the wall? Or one that lights up all the time and did that drain the battery? thanks.

I just bought a digital travel clock from Target for only $4...runs on a AA battery. We cruise in a couple weeks and I'll let you know how it goes!

I bought mine from Sharper Image a few years ago and I love it...you can set it for auto, dim, bright, etc. and the numbers are large and easy to read. It was expensive at $40 but I have used it several time and holds up great and I plan on using it for years to come. I can justify the price since I travel very often and always bring it with me.

I bought a $3.50 battery one at Wal-Mart and you just push the top and the light comes on. I kept it on my side of the bed so I could easily push it to see the time without cutting on all the lights.....on my past trips I would fumble for my watch, take it to the bathroom, fall into the bathroom (that darn step up that I forget), realize I had forgotten the switch is on the outside, reach out and turn on the light, check the time, and by then I was awake and annoyed I liked my little battery clock. I am too blind without my glasses to see a plugged in one from across the room.

There is a clock in the staterooms...a nice nautical themed clock...that you can actually purchase. if you like. The only thing is...it isn't an alarm clock...and it is not lit up. But you can always call for a wake up call...from Mickey Mouse himself...if your needing up by a certain time... and who really needs to know what time it is when the lights are out..and their sleeping?

Any how.... I did just see some nice looking travel alrarm clocks at LL Bean.

Jill, yes, we just got off the Wonder so I knew about the nautical clock. But it really isn't any help in the middle of the night, and I usually wake up at least once and want to know the time. We did use Mickey to wake us up , boy that was one loud wake up call! Thanks for the LLBean idea.

We have the same clock as mmouse37, and we think it is great. It stays lit so it is easy to read the time and it can also serve as a night light. We take it on all our trips.

I am planning on bringing one that plugs into the wall. Will there be a place for this or should I bring a battery operated one. Thanks we leave in 5 days. Can't wait.

There are outlets in the room..but it's a limited number. So depending on what else you have to plug in...you may not have enough. An extention cord is recomend to pack...if you have much at all to plug in. There is an outlet on the vanity...but it's in a tricky spot...so it dosn't work well with anything with a big clunky plug in part (like some hair dryers). There are lamps on the night stands..so there has to be an outlet near the head of the bed also...but I'm not sure if they are both used by both of the lamps...or if each lamp has it's own outlet. To be safe i'd pack the extention cord...and maybe even one of those things you plug into the outlet to make two or three plugs for one outlet slot....

The outlets by the bed are unusable as they are a different outlet than US (from what I have read) and you have take the bed apart to get to it....you are better off having a battery operated one if you want one on the bed side table.

There is also a plug behind the TV that is pretty easy to access but no place to sit the clock....if you want a plug in clock the best place for it would be on the desk and use that outlet.

I bring the battery operated clock mentioned in my post above for the bed side table and I also bring an extension cord or power strip to use at the desk....this way I can plug in my hair dryer, curling iron, camera charger, etc......my hairdryer has that big black box plug and does not fit in the outlet by the desk without an extension cord/power strip.
