Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

I was right - I knew it was Michelle because I had already read about your meet on her TR. I am so glad you got to see the baby gorilla. Seeing the baby gorilla was one of the highlights of my visit to AK. That baby was the coolest ever!

You got some great animal pics! What a great way to start the day!

It was so fun getting to hang out with her for awhile!

More critters coming right up!

Day 2 Continued

We quickly made our way through the FP line and were soon boarding a Jeep. I had remembered being on the left side of the Jeep last time so I thought I would take the right side this time. Turns out there is more to see on the left! Luckily Michelle with her nice camera took some great shots (again, go check out her TR if you haven’t seen them)

I proceeded to take some blurry pictures of a hippo

And some crocs

This fellow wasn’t blurry but was apparently in hiding

Finally I got some decent shots

This guy was willing to let me take his picture

Can you see this ones tongue reaching up to that branch?

I got a glimpse of the mandrill

And then took a series of similar photos

The right side of the Jeep is however the better side to see the lions and both were cooperating some

And finally

Our safari was cut short by some pesky poachers and we were dropped off back in Harambe. The next showing of FOTLK was starting in about 15 minutes so we headed that way, of course stopping to take in the sights along the way!

Michelle had to point this one out to me, I had only seen it in pictures until now

We arrived to be seated in the back of the lion section but at least we could stand up and take pictures (again, be sure to go see Michelle’s…much clearer!)

I love the tumble monkeys!

After the show, it was time for me to head out because I had a lunch ADR in another park. We said goodbye for now because we knew we would be seeing each other again!

I think the tumble monkeys are the best part of FOTLK. They always make me laugh and I love their costumes.

Feel your pain on the safari... seems like no matter what side I'm on it's the "wrong" side! And those darn poachers have cut our trip short every time too.. what a coincidence!

I just had to laugh when I saw the pics of the animal's behinds! So funny! but you did get great pics of the giraffes and the rhinos. So glad you got to meet up with Michelle...I'm soooo bummed too that I didn't get to meet more DISers! Next time right?! Can't wait for more!!

I sat on the right and agree that it would have been easier to see everything if I had been sitting on the left! The lions were not cooperating when we went, so I didn't even have that. Oh well, there's always next time!

I am a bit ashamed to say it is the park I spend the least amount of time in. I like it but for some reason, only in small bits. I spent another half day there later in the trip but that was enough for me (sorry MeMom)

I love the giraffes so I was happy those shots turned out nice

All my dismeets were lots of fun! If I had been with hubby, he would never have wanted to meet "strangers" on our vacation so it was a special bonus of going without him!

HOT...YES!! I look at that picture of us and my hair gives away how hot and humid it truly was. totally worth is though!

Giraffes and elephants are my favorites. The elephants didn't like me as much I guess
