Where could I buy wire hangers for cheap?

I need to buy 300 hangers for a big consignment sale. Does Walmart sell them? I thought I would ask here before I call all of the cleaners in our area.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Joan Crawford might be having a garage sale. You should be able to score them cheap... Free even.

LOL it's actually a true story, which is the saddest part. It's good though. Happy you have a good sense of humor. Good luck finding them. I know Walmart has cheap plastic ones, never see wire anymore.

When I was a teen, the book "Mommie Dearest" was HUGE popular read. Then the movie came out. But indeed sad that the book was written by Joan Crawford adopted daughter who didn't have a very happy childhood to say the least.

Try a thrift shop that sells clothing. Ours only uses the plastic hangers and gives away the wire ones.

Our dry cleaners hapily give them away for free. Start there before you pay for them.

I'm going with "ask on Craigslist" -- I'm sure there are lots of people, like me, who have a ton they'd love to get rid of. I can't imagine paying for them.

My dry cleaner usually gives me a load of them for free. Also, if you have a dry cleaner next to a laundromat, I usually find that people leave the wire hangers on the racks there for people to use. Then we keep recycling from what we buy at the sales.

i agree with what others have suggested; start with a dry cleaners and then going onto craigslist.
