Where can we meet Simba & Nala?

Hi. Just wondering if there is anywhere that my little ones can meet the Lion King characters, esp. Nala in Animal Kingdom? Thanks. NESS:wave:

You can sort of meet Simba at The Lion King Show at AK. After the show, I've seen lots of kids walk up to the float he's on and he nods at them and things like that!

Aside from "meeting" the float at the end of the Lion King show, there's no place to do a meet & greet with Simba and Nala. They aren't "walk around" characters like the rest. Sorry! You can, however, meet Timon at various places around DAK. He's a fun one to meet!

We went to the FOTLK last week and they did NOT have the floats available after the show for photos. (I know they did on our last trip-- we have a couple of pictures.) We went to the first show of the day, I don't know if that was why? There was an announcement to remain in our seats until after the floor was cleared and ushers held everyone back until the floats were returned back stage.

I never thought about that. I wonder why, for example, Rafiki and Timon do meet-and-greets but other characters that logistically could, do not. I am guessing that Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Pumba (maybe a stretch), etc would be a hit greeting in the parks. Especially those of us who have visited multiple times would welcome some fresh characters in the parks.

Because Rafiki and Timon stand on two feet. Simba, Nala, etc. stand on four. So "logistically", it would be difficult to do an effective meet & greet. And autographs would be out of the question.

With the possible exception of the Brother Bear bears, there aren't a lot of the animal characters -- the more "realistic" animal characters, that is -- who are available to meet & greet. You can't, for example, meet Bambi. The animals from Robin Hood, Pinocchio, etc are all "animals as humans" in that they walk on two legs, wear clothing, etc.

That's the difference.

WDWSearcher is exactly right. Rarely do four-legged charaters (who are depicted in their movies on all fours) appear as walk-arounds. There are a few exceptions - Searcher mentioned the Bears. There's also Bullseye from Toy Story, and of course, there's Pluto.

I'm hoping that they're getting a little more creative with this type of thing because we saw Nemo at Epcot a few weeks ago, which I thought was awesome! I was not expecting to see him!

kc&dmom- the reason the floats did not remain out that time is you probably attended one of the performances where they do a quick strike. I think it's the 11:45 show and maybe one other. Sometimes it's for maintanence or some other reason that they need to get the floats in quickly. Also, they may want to get the audience out quickly. People tend to linger when they leave the floats out. After the 11:45 show, they put more chalk on the monkey bars, and they only have so much time.

Back to the topic at hand- yes, it's a shame the lions can't really do meet 'n greets. That'd be really cool.

Try the Kiliminjaro Safari Ride.
My DS (4 at the time) was convinced the lions we saw were Simba and Nala!
