My boys want pancakes for breakfast while we are staying in Disneyland. I know that there are breakfast buffets that have them but I don't want to spend that much on breakfast- especially since for my boys it just wouldn't be worth it. They are older and won't be excited about the character breakfasts and from what I have read they are very pricey. I am just looking for somewhere that they can get a plate of pancakes and DH and myself can get something else yummy. I see that Carnation Cafe has Mickey Waffles but I don't see pancakes listed on the menu. I am sure they would eat the waffles one morning but they really have been talking a lot about pancakes- and they don't have to be shaped like Mickey.

At Storytellers Cafe they offer a character breakfast. It is a buffet, but if you choose you can order off the menu. The food is real good there and you can just shoo the characters away if you want! :) Whatever you do, don't get sucked into the IHOP near the crosswalk on Harbor! It is more expensive than eating in the parks! ;)

We love ordering off the menu at Storyteller's - the french toast & pancakes are both yummy. We also had pancakes at RBT last Nov. *Here's* the RBT menu. You'll find other DLR menus there as well :)

I agree the IHOP on Harbor is way too expensive. It's a shame because we enjoy IHOP, but will not pay those prices. There is a Denny's on Harbor as well, but I've never eaten there so I can't tell you if it is good or pricey.

Also there are Hot Cakes at McDonald's.

I was going to say the same thing. McD's is very convenient (& cheap) if one is staying at (for example) Fairfield or Hojo's. A couple of "Big Breakfasts" could feed a family of four for $6-8 bucks.

Plus it's fast & you can still get to the turnstiles 30 min. before opening. :thumbsup2

If in the park I recommend the kids Mickey pancakes (or is it waffles?) at Carnation Cafe. :yay:

:)

I had a really good (and GIANT) pancake at Millie's (not Mimi's). The rest of the food my DH had was "fine", but the pancake was pretty good, and it's very affordable with large portions. I just stole the pancake from DH's combo breakfast.

Your hubby's nice....if Mrs. Hound tried to do that to the Hound's Combo plate, she'd have fork marks on her hand. ;)

:lmao::rotfl:

I thought it was waffles at Carnation Cafe and pancakes at River Belle Terrace. I think Carnation Cafe has apple pancakes on the adult menu though as well as cinnamon roll french toast. Then there is the waffle on both the adult and kid menus. There are definitely regular pancakes and Mickey shaped pancakes at River Belle.

Ooh. Don't forget Mimi's though. They definitely have pancakes too. My boys had them off the kid menu there once and enjoyed them very much.

Yes, Carnation Cafe has apple pancakes on the adult menu, and they are really good. Though I prefer the cinnamon roll french toast myself!

Thank you for all the replies! I think we will do breakfast at both Riverbell Terrace and Carnation Cafe.

One more question- and I hope this does not sound clueless... but I really have no idea... what time does breakfast start? I thought I read somewhere that you could get breakfast at Carnation Cafe before the park opens... is that true? If so how would you get to Carnation Cafe if the park was closed? Perhaps the information I read was not correct or I misunderstood.

Bfast starts when the park opens, at least at CC it does. You can get into Minnie & Friends before official opening if you make a reservation for a MM day.
We get pancakes at RBT (we get the cinnamon roll french toast at CC, OMG YUM!), Mimi's, Millie's, Denny's. We refuse to eat at IHOP because it's way overpriced, the Denny's is standard pricing tho so we eat there quite a lot. :) One trip we ate there every day. lol

Oh yes! I HAVE to try the Cinnamon Roll french toast- I have seen pics and it looks Yummy! I definately want to eat at CC for both breakfast and lunch and RBT for breakfast too.:goodvibes

Ok, so if the Dobies wanted to get pancakes when they felt like pancakes and didn't mind standing in line at a counter to get them, they would go to Riverbelle.

If the Dobies wanted to have a reservation and be waited on while they ate their pancakes, they would make a PS at Carnation Cafe.

You can check the menus and prices at allears.net.

Either way, the Dobies LOVE eating breakfast outside at DL!!!!!!

:rotfl2: Well, I guess I asked ahead of time, so maybe STOLE is the wrong word. I probably also promised him ice cream or something :woohoo:

And this thread has just made me want to pancake my way across DLR on my next visit. I think I also had pancakes at RBT, I don't really remember what I thought of them though. Bad Diser I am.

Also Mimi's Cafe has Mimi Mouse pancakes. I didn't catch where the OP was staying so Mimi's may or may not be convenient.
