I did not realize that I scheduled our universal trip when HP/Order of the P. opens. Are there any movie theaters by universal? Should I just wait till we get back to see it and use the time at the parks? :confused3

I would bet money that they will be showing it at the AMC theater at CityWalk. You can purchase a Movie/Meal deal at the parks for the adults (I think it's $19.99). It includes a movie ticket and dinner at select CityWalk restaurants I think it's cheaper for the kids to go a la carte, but I'm not sure.

Yipee thanks-maybe we will do it-but I hate to lose park time though-what a dilema!:goodvibes :rotfl:

They had showings for spiderman 3 from 8 in the morning til 2. If you're staying onsite you can even take a break in the busy part of the day and see the movie then go back later.
Where theres a will, theres a way......and you can sleep when you're off your vacation at work.

When we were at Universal in May, we watched Shrek 3 at the theater. We went to an 11AM showing on Saturday so only paid $5 each. Only complaint is that they didn't turn the lights off until a couple minutes after the movie started. In the afternoon and evening, the concessions sell alcohol!

Yeah, we had never been to a movie theater that sold mixed drinks, it was pretty neat! DH and I had an Oreo Mudslide and the kids had milkshakes ...YUM! And don't worry if you don't like that kind of thing, we didn't see anyone who was drunk or acting stupid.

Mid day viewing would be the perfect idea.

Tour a park early, stay till about noon. It will get very hot at this time as the sun heats the walkways. Go to the theater and watch the movie. Then return to a park at 5pm. As you leave the theater, make dinner reservations at the information booth, it's located in front of the theater. Parks will be open until 10pm. 3-4 hours is plenty of time to tour a park. Many have this idea they need to spend an entire day in one park from morning until night, but that's not true. You can get a lot done in a few hours, especially if you show up early each morning.

I love their Oreo Mudslides!!

Robvia- I am asking about your attack plan- do tell! I need a direction for this trip and feel so lost! Disney is like home I know all the ins and outs....US and IOA not a clue!!:confused3

My attack plan is outdated, and it's only 2 years old.
Attack Plan
They don't have express passes anymore.

Anyway, the big thing I tell everyone is to arrive early. Drive up to the parking garage at 07:45am. This year they're doing something new, letting annual passholders in early at 8am for 2 rides. When the park is real busy, they usually open early.

Universal is different from Disney, there is no rope drop. Instead, the order you wait at the gate, is the order you go into the park. Once inside you can go on the rides immediately.

Disney brainwashes people into staying the entire day. At Universal you can tour a park in a 3-4 hours if you hit the highlites. For example, if you go to IOA first, you can easily take a lap and be done by noon if you're there before the gate opens.
