Agreed! I live in the Midwest, my sister in Texas. Neither of us would consider Texas Midwest!

TX is most definitely NOT Midwest! TX is TX! (I've lived both places.)
Runzas seem like a pretty Nebraska-specific item though, not really representative of the whole Midwest. Maybe some sort of casserole? (I've lived all over the country, and things like tater tot casserole seem most prevalent in the Midwest, more so than other areas.)
Edit: maybe a maid rite (loose meat) sandwich would work for the Midwest. Kind of similar to a runza, but not quite as specific.
