ok according to CRO ( who said she asked since I asked her to make sure since I have been told the opposite )you can ONLY get a pass activated OR buy an activated AP at one of the 4 main parks,,,not DTD( there "you get an inactivated pass"), not the welcome center( same thing as DTD), not the airport and not vero beach.... DOES anyone please know for sure so I can know if I have to go to ORlando on my way to Vero to get these dumb things activated...this is rapidly becoming a whole lot of trouble for the savings....I called cause I really do not want to drive to Vero, have to turn around and go back..vero has told me they activate once and they do not activate once. has anyone ever gone there with an inactivated pass? HELPPPPPPPPPPP!

I thought the same thing as what you were told. They can only activate the passess at the four theme park guest relations. Why do you need if for Vero, are you using an AP discount?

Gina

I got my AP at DTD. Maybe they are confusing activated pass with a voucher.

The AP I got at DTD was not a voucher but the real AP. It is activated but you have to enter one of the parks to have the fingers scanned the first time. That doesn't mean it is not activated.

My AP was a true AP and not a voucher and the year started ticking the day I got it. I still had to do a biometric the first time I used it to set the scan so I think this is maybe what they meant by activated, although the AP is really already activated.

Here is more information about activated passes:

I activated a voucher at Downtown Disney a year or two ago.

I've heard you can buy an activated pass at the Orlando Airport store (but not activate a voucher).

I did buy an activated pass at MCO.

I would think Vero will honor your voucher, especially if you promise to fax them a picture of the pass once you get to Disney.

Pardon me for a moment...

Why, why, why does anyone take CRO's word for anything other than room reservation information? All a DRC CM knows is what's on his/her computer screen. If it isn't there, they don't have a clue but that usually won't stop them from offering up incorrect guesses. If you want a correct answer, ask to speak to Guest Relations!
</rant>

Thanks, I feel better now. ;)

You can buy an activated AP at the four major theme park ticket booths, any Guest Relations location (including the two at DTD), either of the two airport Disney shops, at the Ocala Information Center, and at any of the three Disney warehouse outlets in Orlando/LBV.

You can activate an AP voucher at the four major theme park ticket booths, any Guest Relations location, and at the Ocala Information Center.

You cannot purchase or activate an AP at Vero Beach.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting that. CRO= Central Reservations Office, NOT Disney Info. or guest relations.
Asking CRO a question about passes is like asking the receptionist at a car dealership what is wrong with your car.

actually I have had this same go round with guest relations! evidently no one in the history of disney has gone to vero with an AP voucher and wanted to use the AP rate. i have been told every single answer from they will honor the voucher to need the activated pass by CRo, Vero's front desk , guest relations, you name him, with the exception of M Eisner, I've called them( ) and no one is telling me the same thing twice . I would rather stop at Orlando on the way ( well not really on the way but closer to on the way) than have to go back but husband is unavoidably going to have to miss 1/2 the first day of a very expensive class he is taking in Vero *without* (what i am guessing would be at least an hr.) detour so would rather go straight there if possible but I can not seem to get the straight answer on this....I have called Vero directly twice but guess I will call and speak to the manager next? at least I can give his name if they say I do not need it activated then tell me something else when I get there.

today cro transfered me to someone who was* supposed* to be in *passes* so I crazily figured *she* should know, silly me:confused: I think she was thinking of the bioscan cause she kept saying we'd have to "go through the turn stile to get them activated" and "the main parks are the only ones with them"
I just said thanks and got off the phone after my second 30 min wait of the day since i got the drift she was clueless...however not before she said she checked to make doubly sure she was "correct" since I kept saying "are you sure about that?"..I feel bad gripping cause they try to be nice /helpful but this is really crazy to have to call around like this for an answer to a pretty basic question...whatever.

do not really feel like adding a 3 hrs drive to an already 17 hr one but I may have to drop hub off in Vero and go back if that is the only way to do this... excuse my rant ...BUT IF THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THAT IS THE STUPIDEST THING I EVER HEARD OF!!! wheww that felt gooood

where is the Ocala info center? anywhere remotely close to 95? if that is the florida welcome center I specifically asked about that and the "ticket specialist" said that is just a disney store and only sells vouchers but like I said ...clueless.. so I could just not buy the voucher and hope I can buy an activated one once I get there...now I am afraid to buy the voucher since I do not know if it would be better just ot buy the actual pass if I can find one within the vicinity of our drive down.

well lets say that is what up to this point I am unsuccessfully attempting to do...I can get a "group rate " of $145 but the ap rate is only 120 so I would like to save that $25 a night for the 5 nights but my phone bill is going to end up being that much by the time I am done and I have lots more gray hairs so the dye job alone will finish any "savings" off for sure:)

Ocala is now tied into the ATS computer system at WDW. Not only can they sell you an activated AP but they can renew your AP as well.
