I've been talking with some folks who know a whole lot more about discs, machines and technology than me and I wanted to share what I learned with you:
I found out that Disney has been experiencing a lot of problems, especially with the new dual layered discs. But so has every other studio! Apparently, the Disney discs are NOT reproduced by Disney, but by people who reproduce discs!
But I found an interesting site I'd not seen:
the Disney Dvd site is-
www.disneydvd.com/support
I found it pretty interesting, check it out!
Vince- I don't think you have a BIG problem, just a matter of a quirk between your machine and that particular disc.
Dar20- Sorry, but the news for you is not so good. I was kinda right in the email I sent to you, but to get the entiire picture of your problem, check out-
www.hometheaterforum.com/bbs/archive/23342.html
I am also advised by my "expert" to...
"tell your friend not to spend anything on a repair, they usuall don't work!"
He should know, he's been through it with his A310!
I've learned a lot trying to find an answer to Dar20's original question. I have only had ONE problem with an LD disc, and have never had a problem with my DVD.
But after all is said and done, I'm willing to wrestle with the problems of new technology to get the astonishing results of a DVD player with a good sound system!
Dar20- I hope this helps...
