I will be at WDW for one night before the rest of my family joins me. I don't have a problem eating alone but would prefer to sit at the bar--at what restaurants, particularly the ones not in the parks, since I won't have park access that night--can I do this? (I'll probably wind up at DD, but am open to going to a resort. I'll be at AKL.)

Raglan Road in what used to be Pleasure Island. Great bar and great atmosphere. Good food. Irish band at 9PM.

We enjoy Territory Lounge at WL.

Great food & atmosphere.

Mrs.Disney Ron

DH and I had wings, breads and dips and drinks at the Tambu Lounge

If you like Sport how about the ESPN bar?

Claire ;)

I think you can at California Grill as well--don't know if you need a ressie or not.

Another vote for ESPN. It is a lively bar with lots to look at while you eat. It is typical bar food - nothing great, but good.

We eat at the bar in Narcoossee's quite often. Also at California Grill, but you have to get there quite early to get a seat....

Depends on where you are staying, if you want to travel or not.

You can eat at the bar at Flying Fish, bartenders are fantastic...lot's of fun.

Jiko, bar or table in the lounge area, they serve full menu, again fantastic bartenders..lot's of fun.

Raglan Road..great food and bartenders.

Gurgling Suitcase – full Olivia’s menu available at bar

Flying Fish – full menu at counter seating

Turf Club – appetizer menu at bar
Tambu Lounge – appetizer menu at bar (selections from Kona)

Another vote for Flying Fish-- full menu available, and great atmosphere. We have also done the lounge area at California Grill for the fireworks, but I don't know if you can do that anymore.

You can - if you can get in. You have to check in at the 2nd floor California Grill desk. They will let you go up to the lounge if there is room in the lounge for you. The closer you get to fireworks time, the less likely there will be room for you.

I also want to say that the bacon and tomato flatbread at the Territory Lounge is awesome.

TDC Nala, thanks for your list above, it's a keeper!!:thumbsup2

I agree. So is the pulled pork flatbread. We made a meal of it and the chicken wings on our visit last month.

I tried the pork and it's good. But the bacon/tomato is AWESOME.

I also like the nachos.

My next thing is the cheese. The last time I was there, the appetizer menu said the cheese plate from Artist Point was available. My next Disney trip is in March, and I would love to drop in then and see if I can still get Artist Point cheese.

If I'm on a solo trip I really like the bars - most of the ones on my list are bars I have visited personally. It's quite easy to make a meal out of WDW lounge offerings. I would also like to put in a plug for the lettuce wraps at Tambu Lounge, if you like healthy fare. (How healthy is it to have lettuce wraps with the Lapu Lapu?)
