Where better to return a car late?

Hi there! Long time lurker...finally have a question to ask:

We are renting a car for a day trip to Kennedy Space Center next week. I want to rent from the CCC because we can pick it up earlier than the Dolphin, but since they close at 8:00 p.m., how do we return the car and get back to our resort (POP) after hours? I'm guessing we'll have the car until about 9:00-10:00 p.m. and was wondering if it would be better to return it to the Dolphin so we can get transport from there.

Any thoughts?

The Dolphis rental counter closes at about 4...not sure how you would return there later in the day. You may just have to keep the car an extra day and return it first thing in the morning, then head off to a park.

Here's my thoughts:
I'd pick the car up at CCC and return to the Dolphin - valet at the Dolphin will take care of the return for you. To get to Pop, you can get a bus from the Dolphin to Downtown Disney, then switch to a bus to Pop. If you can get back to the Dolphin by 8-8:30ish, you could walk to MGM and catch a bus from there back to Pop. The final option would be to grab a taxi - not free, but the most direct (and not that far fare-wise).

Thanks! That's kind of what I was thinking. I have no idea how the CCC handles an after-hours drop off, so I think I'll book the return at the Dolphin so I can do just what you said!

A car rental is based on a 24 hour day. I'd return it the next morning, prior to the time you picked it up, and then take Disney transportation from the Dolphin to whatever park you're going to for the day.
