We will be at WDW the week of 3/17 and I've seen rumors the new parade will be starting up at MK that week. I'm so excited since the parade is my girls' favorite thing at Disneyland! Where at MK would be the least crowded area to see it? My girls are 3 and 6 so we will have a stroller with us. How early should we get there?

^^ this is where we watch the nightly parade, and it's not crowded. Our last visit a couple of weeks ago there were 2 the night we stayed (8:00 & 10:00 with fireworks in between). We got to our spot around 9:45 and the parade made it to us around 10:30ish.

Thank you! Do both the electric parade and the daytime parade take the same route?

As far as I know it´s the same route for both parades.
Either it will start in Town Square and end next to Splash Mountain or it will start near Splash and will end in Town Square.
-> You can find the detailled route in the park map.

Since you are mentioning parades.
There will be also the Move it, shake it Street party during the day.
It´s interactive, because you can join in. Maybe your kids will love that, too.

A look at the Parade Route
Disney's (MS) Electrical Parade and the 3 O'Clock Parade both start near the Firehouse and exit near Splash Mtn.
MVMCP and MNSSHP Parades both start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents,
or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.

(But, from there you won't be able to see the new "show" that is actually projected on the front of the Castle,
"Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the evening fireworks.)

Just a note about the Move It Shake It parade/party though, since it was mentioned and it's fun. It only goes up Main Street around the hub and back down Main Street. It does not go through Frontiertown like the other parades. At least it never did that I remember, unless that has changed.
