Undercover Tourist is one of those "Disney authorized" sellers. They have a bit better prices than Disney; and definitely better prices than my work site (although my work site has pretty good prices if you go over 5 days). That savings will cover a bit of our Wishes dessert.

I really kind of heard about it late, but I figured I'm already hemorrhaging money, so I might as well spend a little more and get a good view of Wishes on our last night. Why not? I want us to have the best time - who knows if we'll ever get to do it again?

oboedm, I just went and looked at your PTR and your (incomplete) TR - I wish I could have your hair! I love it! I have to stick with long hair or else I look ridiculous - I've always been so jealous of women who look so good with that short hair. Will you ever finish your TR, or is that never going to happen?

I made Mickey Head Tie Dye a few weeks ago, for the second time. Let me just say, they turn out much better with the expensive dye, as opposed to the kits, and don't worry about using too much dye, the shirts can take it!

They do take a "limited amount" of walkups every night; maybe if you really wanted, you could try walking up.

Yep, I'm thinking I need the good dye too. Where do you get yours? I'm going to try to make mine first (maybe even tomorrow!) and see what happens. I don't want to make mom's yet, since she might lose a decent amount of weight in the next two months. I wouldn't make hers until early October - as long as I'm not a complete klutz with making them and can't do it.

I ordered mine online from Dharma Trading, but I've heard people getting good results from the Jacquard kit (its in a white box) from Joanns.

Ha Thanks! I LOVE short hair! I try to grow it out every few years, but I hate the maintenance of long hair and having to "do something" with it.

I don't think I will ever finish my TR-- however, I am thinking about starting a PTR for my next trip, so I may include a couple of highlights from Sept 2010. We have been on another trip since then (Feb/March 11) but I was too busy to write a PTR or TR about it! I may have to include some highlights from that one, too! =)

I did a google image search on "Pop Century", and there's a Pop Century image thread here on the DIS too. I just copied them and put them in a folder on my desktop, and named them for the days I wanted to send them ("resort 1" goes out on the first day of my countdown, "resort 2" on the second, and so on).

I’m pausing here on the day of my birth to make mention of another little exciting time in a girl and her mom’s life, a time of happiness, joy, and expectation, a time of laughter and, sometimes, a few tears. I’m talking here about …

Chick-fil-a! It’s a’comin to my town! (I'm sorry the pic's so tiny, I took this with my phone while standing in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond parking lot.)

Yes, that food of the gods! Yes, that delicious chicken wonderfulness! Yes, that real-chicken-real-lemonade-real-spectacular happy chicken place is movin’ right in about a mile from me!

I’ve been watching the building go up over the course of several months.

To this:

I’ve been a fan of this place since I was a kid and there was a Chick-fil-a about 20 miles from us. Momma and I would go as the most special of special treats (we lived out in the country, and “heading to town” wasn’t something we did every day); it was in the mall, and any time we could, we’d stop by and get some nuggets (barbecue sauce for me, Polynesian for Ma).

I’ve never had one (especially a freestanding one!) anywhere near me – it’s always been at LEAST a 25-minute drive or a run through the Orlando airport to grab a box of all-chicken nuggets. Now, I can just casually stop by any time I want! My Ma is pretty jealous, but we can stop by Chick-fil-a any time she's up for a visit now, which is exciting for us both. Maybe we'll make a push for Thanksgiving to be Chick-fil-a this year instead.

September 15th! It’s on my calendar!

Just ate Chick Fil A for lunch! Love that place! Everytime my niece walks in she looks around for the cow mascot. She loves him!

Last night I went a little crazy on the Rent/Transfer board of the DVC board here at the DIS; I saw that BWV only had one night that was considered unavailable during ma and my stay, so I thought I'd attempt to rent some last-minute points so we could stay there. Pretty much every place else is all tied up and there's no hope; a studio at BWV for our nights (renting points) would be close to the same price as Pop, so I gave it a go. So far, I haven't gotten a "no sorry, no availability" I've only gotten "no sorry, I rented all my points". I wish I just even knew about availability; then I could really start scrambling!! Oh well, I'll still be very happy with Pop if we stay there; I'm pretty sure that's where we'll be. I just really want to make this trip memorable; staying at BWV could save us some time transporting to Epcot!

I also tried to find out from a few point renters about availability at BCV for DBF and I next year in late April / early May. It's "supposed" to be relatively low crowds, since Easter is SO EARLY next year! Wow! And, if we went out on 4/28, it would be the day after April close for us (since we're both in finance) so it might be possible to get in a nice trip without work breathing down our necks. Only problem - I hear there's a lot of teenagers and tweens at the parks for "school outings" at that time. DBF and I wouldn't be a huge fan of that.

... but I'm probably not going to get it.

Every time I think of it, I'm checking online to see if there's a Rose & Crown ADR for the Wednesday that my mom arrives. We had one at 5:40, but I decided to cancel it and fly by the seat of our pants when it came to dinner. Then I realized that, if we could get a reservation at the right time, we could watch Illuminations while we ate.

So now, every time I think of it, I run to the dining reservations site just to see if anything has opened up. Nope, just our old, sad little 5:40 ADR that no one has snapped up yet. I really don't want to try to attempt to watch Illuminations if we don't have a good seat (DBF and I tried back in November and FAILED); and there's no way I'm spending valuable park time just sitting down and waiting. (for the record, I'd do it if we had more time; but we only have like 3 days altogether)

So I'll be continually checking the Disney dining site from now through our trip, crossing my fingers! I don't think it will happen ... but a girl can dream, can't she?

I love that you're taking your mom. My mom and I are great friends too and we've had the ability to take many trips together.
