Where are the best values for booze? Yes, that's right, I started the bacon thread and now I'm asking about where to score the cheap cocktails. I have this theory that the alcohol will clean out the cholesterol...the boys at the lab are very excited... :teeth:

The margarita stand in Mexico. They are about 7.50 each but they are very strong and worth every penny

you know a lot of people rave about the fiesta margarita, its layered and a "pretty" color, dh didnt mind it, but I didnt like my flavors mixing as they start to do...

we also got a 1/2 yard of ale in England - Rose and Crown... :drinking1

I do not like the layered margaritas.Only way I drink them is if they are strawberry, these are Wonderful.

This "tip" is probably right in line with those that return to WDW with their refillable mugs but I'll chime in nonetheless. When I manage to remember, I bring an old half-yard glass with me (from England at Epcot) from a prior trip for refills @ $7. The security guards at the park gates NEVER question it. I've even brought a half-yard glass from four years ago (with an imprinted crest -- nothing like the new ones) and the CMs STILL refill it! It's a great deal, really.

(I can now feel the flames lapping at my skin... :) )

I've got my half-yard from Rose and Crown sitting in the pantry. It's going in the suitcase. :rotfl:

I'm not sure I can classify any of the booze at WDW a "value", but some of my faves are the fiesta margarita from the World Showcase and the Kungaloosh from the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island.

We think the best value is Captain Jacks Marina bar at DTD. We sit outside and people watch my DH loves the margaritas and I love the rum runners then we take the water taxi back to OKW. Just 17 days and we'll be there cant wait

We usually get a few Pina Coladas and/or Margaritas in the little container that are sold in the Resort Stores, I think we paid $3.50 a piece--now that is a value!!!! (hope they still have these) We mostly had these in our room, as a nitecap, if you will....but it sure beat paying twice that at a Resort bar......

Have a Great Trip!!!!!!!!

Do they sell small or regular sized bottles of wine in the resort stores? Specifically, in the PoP Century store?

They sell small wine singles and regular size beer in singles or 6-packs in the stores and all singles in the food court market over at the All Stars. I honestly didn't notice at Pop, but I would think it would be the same. Don't know about full-size wine bottles.

Hmmm... after walking all day in the hot :sunny: on cement/asfalt and fighting the crowds I would say ANY cold beer or 'rita is a good value :rotfl2: IMHO!

Do not hesitate, try the Fiesta Margarita!! I LOVE the layered Fiesta Margaritas. And yes it's true, two of them with knock you on your butt!! :tilt: It's also fun to watch the faces of the kids looking at your cocktail like "But Mom, why can't I have one of the colorful slushies?!?".

OH, that's right, I read at DTD there is a store that sells beer by the single at like $1.50 (just remembering, it was info I stored in my brain!! ) so instead of paying 3-4 bucks, he bought his beer at this take out place (we've never been to DTD!) apparently you can walk with open liquor (again, hope someone else will come here and verify!)

And we stayed at the Poly, and did indeed buy a bottle of wine, I believe I paid around $10 for a full bottle! They had a corkscrew and uncorked the wine I purchased! In France there is a store that sells wine also, I paid for a "wine tasting" so I tasted the wines before I purchased them, but they didnt offer to uncork! They may sell corkscrews... (IF you love wine, and want the best corkscrew around, its called a screwpull, its teflon coated, and it works wonders!)

I would have to agree with bringing back the 1/2 yard to the U.K. you wont find a better deal in any of the parks.

Also as far as I know all DVC properties give you a discount if you buy beer in the 6 pack. Not much but it all counts. :earsboy:

the main thing we learned about drinking at WDW this last trip.....stick to BEER or WINE....at least you know how much alcohol is in them....I cant believe how many mixed drinks we got that were INCREDIBLY weak for a very high price

I will not get one mixed drink on this next trip....count on that

also...I dont know if other resorts are like this...BUT at POFQ...I could get bottles of beer at the gift shop for about half the price as the same bottle of beer across the hall at the food court....and they did have full bottles of wine there

Wow, my first post and its about booze!!

My husband and I found a good value at the Big River Grille and Brewing Works at the Boardwalk. I'm not a beer lover, but my husband got their sampler which was 4 ounces of 6 beers. Being from NY, we expected this to cost like $12-13 but it was only $5! For us $5 for the equivalent of 2 beers was a good deal.

It IS actually cheaper to get beer from the gift shop than to buy it by the pool. They told my friends this when we all stayed at Coronado Springs and said you were allowed to bring beer from the store to the pool, so that's what they did!

I also found that the drinks at the lounge next to the 50s Primetime Cafe (can't remember the name of it) are not cheap, but quite strong so they're a good value.

Oh and don't forget the wine tastings in France, again I think you get more in 3 little cups than 1 big cup.

Can ya tell I've drank my way around Disney World?

Doubt it's permitted but I've seen some guests with cordless blenders making their own blender drinks poolside at SAB.

Yep, had my share of weak drinks.....another option is to stick to "straight" drinks or things like martini's - hard to make a weak Cosmopolitan.

Oh my God, these are extremely strong drinks. After drinking one last May we went on the little boat ride in Mexico and it's amazing how much more fun that ride is when you're feeling "good" :teeth: They're pretty good but I don't like very strong drinks so I might get it a little lighter on the liquor next time. :)
