Where are my Non flip-flop friends?

I hate flip flops purely for the sound that they make when you are walking. What dignified person wants their day to day happenings to be echoed by "Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop. Flip. Flop"?

One summer I was an intern for a large city. The municipal center had these grand marble stair cases. Being a silly teenager I would wear my plastic flip flops to work thinking that they were acceptable work attire. It only took one person referring to me as "The girl who goes up and down the stair cases in her loud flip flops" for me to completely swear off flips flops except for beach/pool or showering purposes.

Speaking for flip flops, does anyone remember this picture and all the flack these women got for their casual foot attire with their picture with the President of the United States?

My people!! :rotfl: I am glad to know I am not alone.

I hate flip flops too. I call them toe wedgies! Crocs Cleos are awesome, I wear them to Disney along with my Merrell San Remo's.

Now that being said, I did find a pair of flip flops in the Totes store. They are Isotoner's and have a fabric toe wedgie and I've been able to wear them. Te only problem is I'm walking a little funny because I am clenching my toes to keep them on :sad2:

I used to hate them. Would never wear them as a kid, I shudder at the thought.

Then I moved to TX for awhile and when you are that hot you learn to get used to flip flops :rotfl:

I have since wrecked my feet wearing them and am having the same problem finding decent sandals without a toe thing.

I hate flip flops with a passion. I hate the feeling of the thong between my toes, it drives me nuts. What I really can't understand is all the folks I see wearing them at WDW. I don't know how they do it, they might as well just walk barefoot .

Living in Southern California, :sunny: that is all everyone wears! AND we wear them at least 10 months out of the year! All day and all night! Well not at the gym.

I went to that OLD NAVY sale and bought 5 pairs. I think I have about 30 pairs. All different colors and styles.

ITA w/ilovejack02, it is a LEARNED love. I moved to SoCal from MA in '08 ... in MA we wore flipflops maybe 2-3 months a year ... so I was not a big fan of them ... but I love them now. REEF SANDALS and RAINBOW SANDALS are awesome!! :cool1:
Thanks for posting about Reef Sandals. I just pulled them up and they are cute! I liked them more than the Rainbow but I'm still looking. :)

Ohhh...REEF's are just so comfortable and will last you a number of years!!! :cool1:

That picture!! Flip flops!! :scared1:

Another non-flip-flopper here, although I will use them as shower shoes when necessary.

I wear slides. They are so much more comfortable than flip-flops.

Another "non flip-flopper" here.. The only thing equally as uncomfortable to me would be Crocs.. I would rather go barefoot than wear either of those - LOL..

I'm with you, but I hate sandals, too. I don't want anyone to see my toes and I don't want to see anyone else's toes either. Toes are really gross. I wear mules and slides, which keep my toes covered but are cooler in the summer.
