Where are all the October 2012 Holidays?

We tried to book our 2012 Holiday today. (4 adults and 2 kids) but frustratingly no luck on the flights front.

We knew where we wanted to stay and we knew when we wanted to go. But not a single airline or travel agent could get us a flight on Oct 20 to Nov 3 2012 direct to Orlando, to include the hotel we want to stay at (which is Sheraton Vistana Villages)

Its frustrating that this far out there are no flights for this key period - surely they are not sold out this far in advance????

We got offered flights the following day (which would reduce our stay by a day, but with no price diffrence) and got offered flights the previous day (meaning an extra day out of school for kids and a potential 'school' fine)

But from Oct 20 to the end of half term holiday 2012 - nothing available, apart from a terribly overpriced Disney villa at OKW or Saratoga Spings, with flights to Sandford (not ideal) from Gatwick (even worse) with Monarch.

Do you think more package holiday availability will come out later this year, when the general fly drives are released?

I know the hotel is available - just got tie it together with a flight

Are you wanting flight inclusive? Flights booked separately won't be released until approximately 11 months from your return date. I am looking at September next year and no flights out beyond early August yet.

Flight inclusive packages should not be a problem though. Where have you looked so far?

Not sure what you are looking for, You say Sanford is not ideal but thats where all the charters fly, you don't want Gatwick but thats where VA & BA fly from (do you mean you want Manchester?)
Monarch have availability but its Sanford, Thomsons have availabilty again Sanford but over £1,000pp just for flights.
VH can fly out to MCO from Gatwick on Sat 20th but have sold out for the return date on Sat 3rd, it would be return on Sun 4th, a 15 day trip but the cost is very high, £9039 at OKW before adding tickets
Same room(2 bed villa) for 15 nights direct with Disney would be £3,645 so VH are charging you £898pp for flights
Packages in school hols are always going to sell early and be overpriced, you will be far better booking flight only and getting your own room.

I am also looking for end of October 2012 for two weeks 4 adults 2 children ... cheapest quote i have had on Disney for free dining is £9100

Let me know if you get any good prices off site

btw ocean florida have some virgin seats for next October but be quick as they are limited and selling fast!x

Have you tried complete orlando, if you call them theyhave flights for oct and nov and were around 500 last time i called

You know, I was making constructive use of my lunch hour today and pricing up a hotel/tickets package on Disney UK .... and remembered this thread. So I put in flight inclusive for next September and ...... red text across the screen saying they can't add flights more than 11 months in advance. Wonder what has changed in the way they are doing their flight inclusives now. I booked flight inc a couple of years ago and did so 18 months out. What gives?

basically i am looking for a flight inclusive package holiday for Oct 20 to Nov 3 from Manchester or Birmingham, and basically I cannot fnd anything - simply no flights available. Returning Sunday Nov 4 is not an option, as the flight means you actually return Monday Nov 5, and will mean another day of school for kids.

There is plenty of accom available, just no flights.

Seems really odd that a company like Virgin cannot sell any package holidays to orlando for the main October half term fortnight 2012 this far out, and t second edition florida brochure isn't even out yet (comes out Nov 24)

Do you hire a car? Could you do a fly drive and do the hotel/ticket package separately?

I am also waiting to see what comes out when my dates are released but they are not available yet. Lufthansa seems to be offering the latest dates at the moment but they are not coming up too cheap
