Where are all the crowds?

It may increase it slightly, but for the number of people at WDW, I don't think the number of vloggers, etc will have a significant effect on crowds.
True, I worry more about all the IT glitches this rollout will cause. So not happy to be a genie-pig!

We cancelled when they introduced Genie+ and the up charge for rides, coupled with pausing the reopening of things that when we booked back over the summer, we had hoped would be open. We probably will not go, just not worth it.

We had a MK park day on the 28th, and it was amazing! My kids rode dumbo again and again without having to get back in line. I never thought I'd ever hear "if you would like to ride again, stay seated and we will be off shortly". It was incredible.

That takes me back to some memories from the 90's! My mom had splurged on E-ride night for us (at like $10 each) and we were able to stay on BTMRR since there was no lines at all, I remember going around 6 times before we'd finally had enough! Definitely a core memory for me. We are arriving for our trip tomorrow and if my kids get to experience this kind of magic, I will be so happy!

It was definitely something we will always remember! Fingers crossed for some magic for y'all!

The point I’m trying to make is, where the heck are all the people who supposedly booked up all the hotels?

I also just returned and was very very surprised! I'd been bracing for a wasted day at MK on 10/3. Touring plans had projected 7/10 and it was adjusted afterwards to 1/10. Just wow. Most of the rides we went on were walk on or just a cycle or 2 to load.

We also stayed onsite (WL) and did not see noticeable lines/waits with transportation, dining or the pools. It was a great experience, one for the books.

My brother has been there with his gf the past week and texted me they were adding
another week because they were having so much fun.

He is amazed on how much they have done and can do. We took him with us several years ago
and back then he said never again because of the crowds. lol

**He did say next time he comes it won't be in October because it is still too warm

October is hot! The hottest WDW trip I ever took was in early Oct. 2009. It was so HOT! I've been several times in July as well, but nothing like that trip. Hoping it won't be so bad this time as we go in a couple of weeks.

I'm surprised the number of people saying it is hot. I expected it to be a bit warm but not like
the reports I have seen. I have always wanted to try WDW in OCT but i guess not because I do
not like hot weather. I can stay home for that ..lol

The humidity is just overly oppressive in October, of course, it is here in Nebraska as well! For every July WDW trip I've made, it was hotter back in Omaha than at WDW so I think sometimes people overstate the FL heat, at least for the Midwest in comparison.

i know the weather is not op's topic but i'm coming in late october, i can expect sun and humidity? i thought it would be a bit cooler by then....

Ehh, maybe? I was there from Oct 29-Nov 4 in 2019. The last few days in Oct were in the 90s. It "cooled down" into the low 80s by the end of the trip with mornings in the low 60s. But it could be different every year.

I was there at the end of October last year. Heat and humidity were definitely a big factor. Definitely not cooler but much less rain than in September.

I have been watching the weather forecast for our 10/16-10/23 trip and it's looking like highs in the mid-upper 80s with lows about 70, so with the humidity it's pretty much shorts weather for us.

Yea it was definitely HOT weather last week too. October is still summer in FL haha.

October in ne and central Florida is funky since year to year it can be so different. I’m in NE FL and it’s been hotter this October then some years..

Where are the crowds? I have to agree with what several have said already in that many have cancelled this year and rebooked for next year in 2022. I originally booked a 7 night Disney cruise along with a week in WDW for February 20th-28th. I'm still not comfortable with cruising, so I cancelled the cruise but have kept our plans for WDW and added an additional night making it 8 nights. What I am finding shocking is the crowd expectations I just discovered on Touring Plans that they are predicting; 10's & 9's for crowd levels. WOW. I get the 21st is Presidents Day and the weekend is the Princess Half Marathon, but holy bat smokes. 😵

With the mess of airlines that is starting to occur and expected to get worst may have people on edge to book anything soon if its too far to drive or unable to drive. Too much things that you can't plan that could disrupt a trip and most don't want to deal with it all.

Lots of people are scared of covid and some can’t travel. I have been three times since covid . It’s been nice the lower crowds. Went beginning of December 2020 end of January 2021 and September 2021. More people are coming out September was the busiest but during normal times September would of been the least busiest.

Just left Epcot and I have to say it was pretty darn crowded! Granite it’s a Saturday night and there’s food and wine happening, but rides had long waits as well. I anticipate this weekend due to the Columbus Day holiday that crowds will be higher then they’ve been in the past few weeks. Touring Plans had a 1 for today, but I’d say it’s closer to a 2-3 for rides and an 8 for overall crowds.
