Buy into DVC now I can't get a flight that makes any sense. Where are all the cheap flights coming out of the Northeast??? :confused3
I'm sure we will end up with something before our November return but I passed up on a $206 round trip from Delta with a hour lay over in Altanta, direct flight home.....DW says she wants non stop both ways...Now that flight that I wanted to book is $364. Shouldn't have listened and just booked.
Well I guess I just have to keep playing on the computer :surfweb:

Last week, I booked at Jetblue for the first week in December @ $89 ea way out of JFK. :cool1:

I check everyday because they drop the prices sometimes for just the day or a few hours. I have looked in the morning and it was one price then check back that afternoon and it had dropped.

Good Luck :tink:

You folks are so lucky. Try flying out of San Antonio. It has been nearly $400 per person rt for early December. It used to be $140 :( And SouthWest always sets their cut-off days so I can get a flight down, but no return :( They aren't my first choice of carrier...but if the price were right...

AirTran pulled out of SAT when they merged, years ago. We don't have ANY discount carriers (except SouthWest, and like I said they are not cheap here)

We used to see one-way tickets on Southwest for like $39-45 from Norfolk, VA to MCO. I booked the Internet special fare of $85 1-way for October, but I keep looking for Ding fares. If I could adjust my travel dates by a couple of days, it would be easier, but flying on Sunday's and Friday's are usually higher....

Oh well, still cheaper than driving (for the 2 of us)...

Brownie... keep looking. I was trying to book flights for the MA Feb vacation and one day the flights were $225 the next $350. Two weeks later $230.

Doesn't make sense... but strike while the iron is hot!

FWIW - I used to fly to MCO and the standard airfare was no higher than 150 - 175 (non stop) now it seems that the shift in price is $50 higher. O well!!!!

I'd recommend setting up a Fare Watcher Alert on Travelocity. You set your destination, and then they will send you an email when the fare drops by $50 or more.

This helped me get a great fare on a flight out of Austin, TX. I got a round trip ticket on Delta for our Sept. trip for $183, and that's including a non-stop flight to Orlando. I'd been checking almost daily for weeks but the fares were staying around $280. When I got the Fare Watcher email, I booked it that day. WIth 5 of us flying down there, I want to save every penny I can!!!

Also try looking for one ticket at a time. I've had success booking one ticket a day for a lower fare, or getting two at one price, then three at another which has averaged out to less than the price quoted for five at once.

we are in the same situatuon. we love Jetblue, but they seem high lately

depending on where you live you might want to check out flying out of Prov RI with SW irecently saw direct to MCO @ $135. r/t

FYI we drove last trip. 24hrs straight thru. if we did this again i would plan on 2 weeks.

good luck

DH is balking at us going for our long weekend for next years Flower Show because of air fares, and as sad as I am about it, I'm agreeing with him. I don't book until 7 months, because I really do want BCV for that, and if the air fares aren't more reasonable, we're going to have to pass on '07. Either that or hope we're bumped off on our October trip. (This trip is with 3 little ones, and all 4 adults are needed to help :goodvibes )

Bobbi :)

Try SWA out of Providence, Manchester or Hartford. I check them almost daily when planning a trip....it depends on your dates. ALSO , Allegiant Air out of Worcester is $79 each way to Sanford Airport. Good Luck planning :thumbsup2

two days ago I could have booked SW out of PVD for $129.00 NS / RT to MCO but I already have flights on jetblue out of BOS . I did check to see if I had any * extra * points to use so I could book cheap air <G>

As soon as the SWA schedule opened for August, I booked my flights at the prices they had at the time (outrageous, by the way!), knowing that they'd go down the closer we got to August. I wanted to be sure that I got the flights/times/days I needed.

Sure enough, by last week, I was able to change our flights to take advantage of the $59 each way trip from Providence to MCO  . I had actually changed them three times, to take advantage of each DING reduction as it was offered.

Now, the only problem is, I have a credit that I have to use before April! Hmm, where could I possibly go for February vacation...? ;)

We started out at $235 RT Providence to MCO - currently have $125 RT each for 5 of us( tues and fri) and $115 for one (traveling on a tues and thurs). I am now sitting on $374 in credit(managed to use some of the rest of it already for daughter who is going separately in Sept to Tampa. Am now waiting for the Christmas week fares to come out. My credit has to be used by the end of May so I have some time to plan that mini trip with just DH and me.

I booked SW out of pvd for $53.00 each way plus taxes and fees. Check SW every day as the prices keep changing. I got the internet fare and was soooo happy! We are going in September.

Cheap flights don't exist out of MSP. I, too, and doing an early December trip. Sun Country is $321 for my dates; NWA with good flight times...$432. Yuck. I am waiting it out.

I had bought my tickets on SWA in May when they went from $218rt to $158rt. Then this month they were on sale for $98rt so I cancelled and rebooked. For a party of four it was a $240 savings. You don't get the refund but it's a credit for one year on SWA. I travel to Arizona 3-4 times a year so I will definately use it! :dance3:

I just booked Jetblue out of Boston for beginning of December. It was $119 each way for a while, but they just dropped to $84 so I booked. If I can get the price under or around $200 pp, I think it is good. Keep checking!

:( Austin is even worse! :(

I'd be shocked if I ever got a direct flight to just about ANYWHERE. Stop overs in Dallas or Houston (or even Atlanta or Chicago) are a given whenever we go anywhere.
