I hope I can make the picture post correctly,,,
My Mom found some pictures from our trips.
We went to WDW in 73, 74 and 75. So that would put me at about 6-7 years old in these pics.
I got an idea where I am,, but I dont want to sway anyone.
What do you think?
She says I look like I am thinking "When I get older, I'm gonna come here every year"
(She also found some cool ones of the submarines, Discovery Island and main St)

Thanks,
Bernie

The first one reminds me of Crystal Palace, but I've only been going to WDW since 2005. Did it even exist then?

I was thinking CP too, but I couldnt remember if it was there that long ago. My mom thought it may be the Poly.

Not sure what boat the 2nd pic is though. We stayed at the Contemporary- some pics of me in the pool, and on the balcony,,, so we wouldnt be taking the large ferry boat from the parking lot...

My first thought was the Grand Floridian, but that wasn't there in the 70's (didn't open until 1988).
So my second guess is the Crystal Palace.

And for the 2nd photo- I'm gonna guess one of the ferry boats.

Cute pics, by the way!

My guess is the restaurant that was located where Tony's Town Square is now located.

They served Monte Cristo sandwiches. I had never had that before.

I also vote for the Crystal Palace for the first pic.

As for the second pic, my guess would be one of the riverboats that sailed on Bay Lake back then. I remember they used to have "moonlight cruises" on the riverboats. I found it. Here's a link to the Port O Call side wheeler.

Second photo, did they have a boat launch from the Contemp to MK? Looks like a boat dock perhaps?

The place was named Town Square Cafe.

Oh, I think you're right Kevin.
I was never there in the 70's, but that front entry area still even has the same look.

What had me slightly confused about Crystal Palace was that the background was not light and airy enough- it didn't look like the ceiling was high enough.

I could definitely believe this was Town Square Cafe.

Here's a photo of the Ports-O-Call.

Too bad they got rid of them.

to take it one step farther, i think it may be the alcove by the Chrystal Palace where the bathrooms are by Caseys Corner.

I'm still not sold, look at the posts, they look a little different. The one in the photo has some space between the molding and the ones at town square do not. I'm not positive enough either way to put up a fight though.

You shouldnt feel bad about being wrong.:thumbsup2
