When you want to cuss (or swear or curse...) but can't, what do you say?

Ya know, the words you say instead...

Mine are really boring. I say darn and shoot. The most colorful one is "ace", but I didn't know it was a substitute cuss word until my youngest son thought that it was a real cuss word and wanted to know why someone was on American Idol with the name of a bad word. I finally got him to say Ace. :rotfl2: Eventually I figured out why he thought that...when I'm driving I say, "way to go, ace!" or "out of my way, ace". :rotfl2:

My sister says "son of a biscuit eater", which makes me giggle.

So help me spice up my vocabulary. ;)

Flippin.

Definately a favorite around here.

And 'for the love of Pete'!!!

I say shyster or fudge!

Not sure how you even spell shyster!

Frack! blame Battlestar

Tartar Sauce and Barnicles! Spongebob

I always say "what the crap" or "holy crap". Crap is my word of choice. :thumbsup2

Funny, I was thinking of this the other day. I dislike cursing and don't feel it's necessary. My friend and her family curse like sailors.

I say fudge and sugar. My daughter says snap and I also like tartar sauce, though I don't remember to use it often.

:lmao: Your son is too cute!! That reminds me of the time I over heard my lil one say "What in the bad word are you doing?"

I usually just bite my tongue ~ I don't have any clever words :confused3

"Fudgicles!!!", "Razzlefrazzle!!!"
Also various swears in Spanish that I will have to stop now that my DS is taking Spanish in school. Can't have him trying to impress the teacher with what his mom says when the trash bag explodes all over the kitchen floor....:headache:

Jiminy Christmas
and Hoppy New Year if I am really mad.

Holey Shmoley

For crackin ice! My favorite non-swearing swearing. This is in place of "Jesus Christ!" which is very bad if you subscribe to Chrisianity. It's the #2 rule. (also, "Jeez Louise") It also works in place of other starting with F. My kids say it, too.

Flippin But only on the DIS. I never actually say that.

What the I'd always catch myself before I got to the "hell" part. All my boys, when confused or whatever, would say, "What the?!" They didn't even know it was short for anything. :rotfl: I had three little boys who'd say, "What the?!" It was cute.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Not an approved substitution, but is always followed with "pray for ______" ...at least in theory. If it isn't there, it is implied. When very upset, "all the saints" follows, too.

Son of a Bleep or Son of a Gun. You know what that's in place of.

Crap instead of the bad poop word. "Crap on a cracker" has popped into my vocab since DISing.

Oh, man. My boys also picked up on this one.

Ezekiel It's got the hard "k" sound and several syllables.

For Pete's sake I say that a lot. No idea who Pete is. Saint Peter? Maybe Pete Werner. It's all for his sake. :rotfl:

I just realized that much of my non-swears have religious backgrounds. I don't know if I'm going to hell or what. :confused3 If not for this, I'm sure there are many other things from which to select.
