When you TRANSFER from someone, how do you check on your reservation?

Does the person send you or give you the Conf # and than everything is left for you, right? I just want to make sure on how to do this. Can someone post the # on how to check on a conf # with DVC? Is it different than the normal # you call when booking? Thank you.

When you book, the person you are renting from will receive a confirmation slip for the reservation, and that should be sent to you. I'm not sure you can call member services, but a couple weeks before the reservation, you should be able to call the resort directly to confirm. When reserving through MS, I have never felt a need to have any other confirmation other than the confirmation sheet we are sent.

we are not suppose to post the phone to MS, however when you recieve the conf. # letter there will be a phone on it that you can call. Just call the number and give them your conf. # on the conf. letter and MS will be able to confirm your ressies. Just remember the dvc member still has control over your ressies from the time the ressies is made to the day you depart. the dvc member can modify , change, cancel it. it is always a great idea to have some kind of contract to show you at least paid for the ressies. have fun, enjoy your stay

I see you changed it from renting to transfer. A point transfer is not a reservation, but is the transfer of points into your own account so you can then make the reservation yourself.

If you are a DVC member and had rented points from another dvc member and the points were transfered into your account, then you call MS, look on the back of your dvc members card and the phone will be there, then call MS tomorrow they are closed now and check if the points were transfered and if they were you are all set to make your own ressies.

if you are a dvc member and you rented points from another dvc member but the ressies was made for you, then you can call MS give them the conf. # and MS will confirm the ressies in your name.

if you are not a dvc member and rented points from a dvc member and the ressies was made for you, you will have to wait until you get the conf. letter to call MS to confirm, unless the dvc member gives you the phone # and conf. # This would not be a transfer.


if you are not a dvc member and a non dvc member wants to transfer their ressies to you from a dvc member that original made the ressies, I would be very careful since the only person that can change the name on the ressies is the original dvc member that made the ressies.

We've done a number of transfers into our account (just seems that our 495 points are never enough for our extended family and friends ).

In these cases, I have sometimes done a three-way call with the other member and MS. Here is how it worked for me:
The other member gives their info (while I hum the Jeopardy! tune) and confirms the points they have available for transfer. Then I give my information to MS and they ask which acct we want the points in (BWV or SSR in our case) and confirm the use-year ('04 or '05). The CM at MS then does his/her thing while the other member and I chat; then the CM comes back and tells us everything is done, and that we should be able to see the points in my account in the next day or so. I don't remember any confirmation numbers (and I've done this four times).

In another case, I gave the other member my DVC number and she simply instructed MS to transfer her leftover points into my account (she confirmed the name on my account was in fact me before proceeding of course). Later that day, I booked using those points.

That certainly looks correct. It's the same as when I make a reservation for a family member using my points. I'm responsible for the reservation, but the name of the actual party that will be checking into the room is listed under the modification.
