OK so this trip will be me, DH and DS(18 months). I just assumed when we planned this that it would be all about my son and that was it.

My husband and I wouldn't ride any rides my son couldn't go on...

Now I am reconsidering???...Its been about 5 or 6 years since my husband and I have been to Disney. Kind of a first trip since we were both kids...so there are some rides we havent done...
soarin, expedition everest...not sure if there are any others...

So my question is - would you ride - alone and baby swap? Should I plan on just riding a couple like the above mentioned ones and thats it?

Anybody?

Definitely do the baby swap!!! But you will also be surprised exactly how many rides the baby CAN ride!!! We took my nephew back in 2005. He was 11months and he rode alot of stuff!!!

My DD's first trip was about her. I didn't ride anything she couldn't-I just didn't want to. I wanted to be with her and see her reactions etc. I had waited so long for that trip I did not want to miss any of it with her.

We had a ball-there were so many things she could do.

We loved Baby Swap!
We brought DD (3.5 months) and DS (4) so used baby swap a couple of times for Thunder Mountain for sure and I forget what else.
I'm not suggesting you make the trip all about you and not do the kids' stuff, but I really wanted to do Thunder Mountain and loved it!
I was surprised, like others said, what the baby did do with us. Stuff like Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion are a huge part of the fun. We did them together.

I rode RnR by myself while DH and the kids waited for me. I wasn't missing that because my kids were too little.

Yup, child swap is a wonderful thing!

I would never go and only do what an 18 month can do!

Yes, go on every ride you want to go on!

Your baby can ride every attraction that doesn't have a height restriction, which is pretty much everything but about 12 attractions in all of WDW. I would definitely use the Rider Swap for the remaining attractions. Very easy to use, just walk up to the CM at the ride entrace and ask for the Rider Switch pass and your spouse can ride while you wait with the baby and then you can ride immediately when he gets off the ride.

We've never tried the baby swap...but we have done the single ride line for Everest. It was like a 5 min wait if that.

We are bringing our DD in September and plan on riding everything she can and also doing baby swap. EE wasnt open last time I was there and I am not missing that!

I dont have to worry about this.....cause I'm a big chicken who doesnt do the fast rides LOL. But you really will be surprised at how much the baby can go on. Of course none of the "mountains" and stuff like that, but there really is a lot. If you want to do the baby swap on a few things, then I say go for it!

i was ok with not diding, like i said we did everything 5 or 6 years ago...but i keep reading about one or two rides i may want to try.

Thanks everyone, maybe i will add one or two rides to our list!

We regularlly use the baby swap!! I love it! We always go with my mom or others though so we are never riding alone. My DH has rode EE alone though because he really wanted to do it one last time so he did the single rider lane and had a blast. Riding alone is just not something I have done. If it were only dh and I though, no helping hands with the kids I would do baby swap. I love the grown up rides. We still focus the trip on the kids primarily, but while at Disney, aren't we all kids (at heart anyway)? While we are doing grown up rides we get a special snack for the kids! :-)
