What is the first thing that you do?

We usually stop off at Wendy's (or somewhere similar) for a spot of food, then go to Publix to stock up on our groceries.

Do any of you go directly to a park or anything? I'm interested to know!

We stop off in Panda Express for some orange chicken get it to take out. We go to the villa eat then take our bags inside then we all head to target for some supply's.

This time and the last time I will be joining family, who will have been there for a week. Usually go around the Florida Mall for a short while then to the Villa to unpack.

Having been there a couple of times now I find that if you were to hit the parks as soon as you land you're setting yourself to blowout before you've started.

I also cant stand the thought of my clothes being scrunched up in a suitcase for much longer.

We've always made it to AKL about 6pm so just stay around the resort.

We head to the room, have a quick wash and change into Florida friendly clothes.

Phone to get our groceries brought to the room (we order Garden Grocer to arrive when we do)

Then once that arrives we head down to the Mara to get some dinner, go and browse the hotel shop, walk around and see the animals.

Then unpack, have a nice bath, watch some Dinsey TV and try to stay awake until 10pm!

We also go food shopping and have a quiet meal out somewhere. I could not be doing with going to a park on my arrival night. I would be shattered!

We unpack, get supplies in and have something to eat. We don't book a meal anywhere -it just tends to be a snack - we've found if you have a full dinner we struggle to sleep & you wake up early so start holiday lacking sleep. We 'explore' hotel to try & keep awake as long as possible but probably end up in bed by 9pm at latest. We've never been to a park on our 1st evening either.

We're flying in from New York this year & will get to hotel about noon - hoping to leave bags & hit MK for the afternoon & dinner in Crystal Palace -which will be quite a different start for us.:goodvibes

Straight to villa, drop off cases, lock valuables away, put a load in the dishwasher (DH is funny about making sure glasses etc are clean :lmao:)

Then we HAVE to go to Bob Evans for our tea! This is our ritual and we also HAVE to go there on the day we go home :confused3 :lmao:

Then pop to Winn Dixie for a few essentials for breakfast etc and then home to the villa, get unpacked, settle in, possibly a dip in the pool and stay up for as long as possible :cool1:

Oh I am very excited now, not long for us :woohoo:

Ali :goodvibes

Typically, we do one of two things (depending on how rested we are from the flight!) We either stop off en-route at publix or Walmart to get room supplies, head to WDW, check in, drop our bags and go grab a counter service to go. Or if we're tired, we go straight to WDW, check in, drop our bags and grab counter service and pick up a drink for the morning in the gift shop. Then when we our jet lag wakes us up at 5am, we head to get supplies!:lmao:

we usually unpack, freshen up and then have an ADR at Kona Cafe. That way we can do a loop on the monorail :)
However next time, we have decided to just eat at a counter service probably Contempo cafe as its at our hotel. Then we'll prob do a full loop on the monorail. :goodvibes

We unpack (VERY QUICKLY)collect our resort mugs from the food court to drop off in our room, and head out to DTD for a spot of shopping and some dinner

We check in, find the room, dump the bags, eat CS at the food court then DH and kids swim while I unpack and turn the room into home. Showers, Stacey on Disney TV then bed :)

Depending where we are staying:

BLT - straight to resort, check in, drop cases in room and get OLs delivered by bell services then head to MK and grab some food and soak up the atmosphere and do a couple of rides that have short waits.

OKW - as above except we head to DTD and Earl of Sandwich for something to eat

Depends on time of arrival and season, but basically I'm hopeless at staying awake and so learnt a long time ago that I can nod off over a meal so we don't do that now, and we're not usually hungry after food on the flight anyway.

These days we normally call in at Aldi along Sand Lake Road if we've flown into MCO and stock up on water, wine, snacks and breakfast cereal. Maybe a bit of choc too :rolleyes1

Never had rituals for first/last day despite the obscene number of times I've been :).

We fly indirect so typically don't get to the hotel until 6-8pm. Unpack, then go out for something to eat (or grab a takeout pizza), then bed by 10pm! The supermarket can wait...

We always used to head to MK on the first night and eat a counter service there, mainly because we used to fly in on a Friday and don't spend much time in the park on the weekend as it's usually pretty busy.

For the last 4 years we head to the hotel/villa/apartment unpack (or not if we're only staying somewhere for a few nights) and head to Logans, we have to eat here on the last night too, we will usually head to publix or walmart then to pick up essentials.

Next trip were flying in from Vegas so we will head straight to publix on our way from BLT and then to Kona cafe for dinner.

we unpack our bags then go to POR foodcourt and have something to eat and collect our mugs, then we catch the boat to DTD. We alway go in 'The World of Disney' and see whats new then head back by boat to POR and crash out!

Really interesting to see what everyone does!

Keep 'em coming!

The first thing we usually do if were staying in a villa, is drop the cases at the villa, drive straight to walmart buy milk, gallon of orange, bread, butter then go to the hot food bit and buy chicken strips, wedges etc, go back the villa and eat! will do the main food shop within a couple of days!

last year we arrived, checked in , got a bus to DTD had dinner, looked aorund all the shops etc, bought some yummy disney-snacks then went back to the hotel and had a swim in the pool

i want to replicate this exactly next time! :)

On the earlier flight this time so presume we will be at WLV by arnd 530ish. Will unpack some things, go for a swim and something to eat and just explore the resort
