When you first arrive at WDW - What makes you think "we're here"!

I agree with many about the Welcome sign on property.

We leave early tomorrow morning an I can't wait. Good grief, I am going to be useless for the rest of the day!:bounce:

only been once but for me it was as soon as I saw the Welcome sign to Orlando. I felt like jumping up and down in the car. What a feeling!

Seeing the palm trees from the plane and being told to stand clear of the doors in spanish!!LOL:Pinkbounc  :bounce: :wave2:

When I see the Purple signs on Oceola Parkway!!

Which I will see in 14 hours!!

Here are my signs of Disney magic:

- Mickey Ears electric tower off of I-4
- Any of the exit signs that say WDW
- The Welcome to Disney World signs
- Seeing the Swan/Dolphin as your coming up over the overpass
- Any Disney resorts and/or their signs
- Pulling into the parking lots of the parks and DTD
- Any of the Billboard signs... love the 3D ones too! Especially the one for It's Tough to Be a Bug! LOL!
- Lastly the rest stop on I-4 right before exit 62, because I know only about 10 more minutes til I'm on WDW property!

D) All of the above

In addition, I think for me usually the first or second night I stay up late....like 1:00 or 2:00am (because of the time difference it's really like 10/11pm for me). I will walk around the resort...usually the Boardwalk and sit on a bench...looking at the view across Crescent Lake at the Yacht and Beach Club...and the lights shining on the water.....the peace and quiet...knowing that there's no work tomorrow, only magic and fun.....and some beers.

The cloak of work, tears, and fears is tossed to the side as soon as I see the Epcot fountain and hear the fountain music!

There are many sights, sounds, scents, and tastes that bring out the Disney spirit in me, besides the fountain:

Driving down 27 to 192, the anticipation builds. My home in Florida is 2 hours and 15 minutes from Disney, and I do love my beautifully wooded acre bordering a natural creek, but something about the tacky hotels and strip centers on 27 and 192 makes my heart jump!

Purple signs and all the signs for the resorts and parks remind me how lucky I am to be able to drive to Disney 6 or so times a year.

Oatmeal with brown sugar, half a banana cut up in it, and a couple of tiny containers of half-and-half at the food court in Pop Century are the essense of a Disney breakfast to me.

Slipping my pass into the turnstile slot and placing my index and middle fingers into the biometrics scanner is another reminder of how lucky I am to be able to have a Florida Residents pass.

A glass of wine in France at Epcot is truly Disney nectar.

Seeing my dear husband's face as we walk into Disney is the best reminder of "we're here!" My beautiful gray-haired man lets the big kid in him take over during our entire Disney time. I love seeing him so relaxed!

Many of the above apply to me also but I really feel that I am "there" after I have checked in and parked my van in the lot. As I am walking to the room - realizing that I have the next few days at WDW I feel at peace with the world and so excited no matter how long of a drive it has been! 12 days and I get to have that feeling!

Seeing that first billboard off the highway coming from the airport that is touting whichever attraction they're advertising at the moment... I love those 3D billboards...

I completely forgot about all those great 3d signs. Thank you very much. But I think that we feel like we are there when we pass the Welcome sign and get to our resort and purchase a refillable mug....

When we pass through the WDW pillars knowing that we are officially in the "world"! ::MickeyMo

The first time I see a monorail going toward the MK. Never Epcot. It has to be going to the MK. For some reason that always does it for me. Even if we've been there for two or three days already, I haven't really "arrived" until I see that monorail.

We always fly also.

I just love seeing the Palm Trees swaying in the breeze as you are on the tram going into the Main Terminal. Then see the Disney Store across the way.

And at Christmas to see the beautiful Christmas tree in the main lobby. :D

I agree with others who've mentioned the purple roadsigns. The 3-D billboards also help when we're driving. If we fly, just getting off at Terminal A, and feeling the FL humidity starts to make it real, and then there's the monorail to the main terminal building.

For parks themselves, it's got to be Main Street.

There are different degrees of "we're here!", but when we get our first glipse of the Poly lobby, we actually say, "WE'RE HERE!" and actually do a little dance! Oh my, we are geeks!
