When you dine with DDP, do you get a receipt, and if so, what does it show?

One of the people in our group will be attending a convention for the first 3 days we are at Disney. He gets reimbursed up to $30 for dinner. We are all on the DDP (not the free plan - we're renting DVC points and paying for DDP). He agreed to sign up for the plan so everyone else in the room could do it. However, his company will only reimburse for a specific meal, and not for something as generic as the dining plan.

So, when you dine out using the DDP, what, if any, receipt do you get, and does it show dollar values just like a regular receipt? What form of payment does it reflect?

You get a receipt just as if you were charging it to your credit card. It will show the dollar amount plus the tip amount. The slip will also show how many TS credits are being charged and what you current credit balance is (how many more meals you have left).

The receipt you get back from the CM shows $0 for all food purchases included in the Dining Plan. There are 2 receipts, one you sign - which does show the amounts for each item and the total, and one that is given to you - the one that shows $0 for all food purchases included in the dining plan and shows the remaing credits left. You may want to ask the CM for a copy of the 1st receipt.

My fiance and I used the DDP last August and were there for 5 nights... they give you a receipt that shows you what WOULD have been charged to you, and one thats shows that you owe nothing due to the DDP. We kept every single totalled receipt and totalled them up.

Nearly spent $650 on food
DDP for 2 in August last year $80 ($40x2)
SAVINGS= Enough to strongly believe forever in the DDP!

We would love to be the spokesperson- lol..

I was just there with the paid DDP. I never got a receipt with the actual price, only $0.

Same for us - I wanted to do a tally to determine how much we saved, and realized that all my receipts had $0.00 on them.

YOu coul;d ask for a seperate reciept for his one meal. If you explain to the waiting staff what you need I am sure they will accomdate you.

First you'll get the bill, which will have the charges on it. Then after you pay (with the DDP in your case) you'll get the receipt, which will show $0 and your remaining TS credits. I'd just ask if you could have a copy of the bill, shouldn't be a really big deal.

I think that what we've decided to do is to eat at the Brown Derby one night and burn 2 TS credits. Then the person who is on the expense will just pay for their dinner with cash 3 nights since it will be reimbursed. We were looking for an excuse to eat at the Brown Derby anyway.

Most places we ate just gave us the $0 receipt, but some gave us 2 receipts - one with the $0 and one with the amount (in addition to the one we had to sign). I suppose you could ask for one to keep with the amounts.

Everywhere we dined we were given the actual tab with item amounts and tax totalled. I kept those and I would hand them my KTTW card and receive the zero-dollar receipt showing how many credits remained, as well. Made it easier to crunch numbers later.

When they first bring the check to your table, there are dollar values on it. The receipt they bring back after they've swiped your card shows $0 for everything. I noticed that most servers returned all three slips (the original bill, the slip to be signed, and the slip to keep) in the folder when they bring it back for signature, some didn't. If you need it, take the first slip out when you give them your key.

Unfortunately, that only works for table service restaurants. There's only one receipt for counter service restaurants, and it prints with $0 for everything.

Our receipts showed $0.00 BUT I always wrote downt the amount that we spent. About $595 to be exact. If we had paid for the dining plan it would have been about $360.00 so I think it is worth it!!!

We usually keep the first receipt that has the amount on it. We have 3 adults and 2 young kids our most exp meal was 185 no alcohol all things on the food plan. YOu really save

The Brown Derby was the big surprise for us last year on the dining plan. If we had not been on it, I don't think we would have paid to go. But after eating at Narcoosees (one of my favorites) and Citricos, we found the Brown Derby was the best meal we had there! :cool1:
