When you book a WDW hotel reservation will they?

When you book a WDW hotel resevation you need to put down a 1 night's room deposit, correct? Will they take the money out (using a debit card) at the time of booking or upon your arrival?

I say they take out the money for the 1 night whewn you book. DH says they hold the card infomation and take it out along with the balance you owe when you arrive at the hotel. Who's right?

They take the one nights room rate out at the time of booking

Anytime we've booked, they've charged the 1 night deposit to our credit card right away - the remainder is due upon check-in.

I just made a 2 night room only reservation at the Poly on Saturday - the charge hit my credit card for one night's stay yesterday.

Or if you book by telephone, you can ask to send the deposit in by mail and you have a week to mail the check or money order.
