what happens? We'll be arriving in orlando sunday night and staying at family's- then we're going to head to Disney 1st thing monday morning. Of course our room wont be ready (staying at SSR)...so what do we do? Should we go to the resort and check in and then go to the park? We really want a specific section. Or...should we go to MK and then head to the resort around 3-4pm? We're driving down so our bags will be in the car. If we show up at 9am what will they do? Call us or something when a room is ready? Sorry im so clueless!

I would go to the resort early and check in. They will issue you your room keys but won't tell you the room number until it is clean. The earlier you check in the better the chances of getting your requests.

If they can see the luggage in your car I would leave it with bell services. You don't want to see your car broken into because they saw the luggage.

This past May, we got to SSR for check-in at about 9am.
They gave us our room keys (which weren't able to let us in yet) & a phone number to call later in the day to see when our room was ready.

We spent the rest of the time swimming at the pool until our room was ready at about 3pm.

**You will love SSR. The pool is great - lots of games/activities in the afternoons (Bingo, water balloons, hula-hoop contests, etc).

Oh good- so at least I know we can get there at 9am. Yay! Thanks for the info, I think our kids will love the pool. Its just trying to find the time to enjoy thats the tough part!

We arrived in Disney on Sept. 12th around 1:00, staying at the BoardWalk and we were able to check in to our room, right then and there. We were so excited. of course our lugguge hadn't arrived yet because of the Magical Express but that was okay because we were able to leave our carry on lugguge in the room instead of putting it in a locker at Magic Kingdom. I would at least give it a try and maybe hopefully your can get into your room at least earlier than 4:00

It's one of our favorites. Be sure to take the nice walk along the path to DTD!

It's truly "luck of the draw"

I have been given a room as early as 9:00am in many resorts, and other, we had to wait untill 1 or 2:oopm.

It really depends on how booked and staffed they are, I have checked in at 9 and not had a room ready till 6 pm at the Poly.
