When you are using AIM...

If you are using AIM, is there any way to know if someone clicks on your profile, or info, and reads it? Likewise, if I click on someone's profile, do they know I'm reading it? I think with ICQ you know if someone is reading your profile, but with AIM, I don't know.

And another AIM question- Is it possible for someone to put you on their buddy list without your permission? How would you know if someone did this?

Just curious because we allow our 13 year old daughter to use AIM but I'm not completely comfortable about it. Thanks for any info.

You can set up preferences for her so that no one can message her unless they are on her buddy list. I don't think they tell you if someone is looking at your profile, however, if you're only using AIM and not AOL you can choose not to set a profile, and then they can't get information about you or your children.

I will look around, but I know there is an AIM download, or insert or something where you can find out who is looking at your profile. I used to have it but now I cant find it...I'll keep looking for you!

Manda1219- I'd be interested in the info you have if you happen to find it. From everything I've read and people I've talked to, the only way to know if anyone views your profile is if you install a subprofile where anyone can click on it and it'll let the person know the screen name of anyone that checks the subprofile. Perhaps that's what you are thinking about?
