A little background. We are a family of six (only five going on the next trip, though) and we go to Disney fairly frequently. We were there in June of this past year as a family, then DH and I went back for our 20th anniversary in August. When we were there in June we bought Annual Passes for the entire family planning on making a trip again together before they expired in June 2011 (June 14th)
So now we are trying to decide when we will go. Our choices are as follows:
1. Mid December
2. Feb. (Presidents Day)
3. May-first week
4. June-first week
We have been before in December (twice), Feb and June (mulitple times)
When would you go and why.

Of those choices I would do December b/c I just love the Christmas decor. Second choice would be 1st week of May b/c low crowds, weather should be good, warm but not blazing and Flower & Garden Festival will be going on.

Feb/Presidents day will be very busy
1st week of June busy and HOT

I say first week of May. Crowds should be low, weather will be nice, & you'll get to enjoy the flower & garden festivle:thumbsup2

I said mid-December because we did this last year and had a great time. The crowds were low, all the X-mas decos were up, party was in full swing, and it was by far the most magical of all disney trips we've taken. I guess a runner up would be early May. Whenever you go, enjoy and love every minute of it.

Do you mind if I ask what people think about a trip around Dec 17 - 26.

Or maybe Dec 25 - Jan 3.

Thanks.

If you want to see Christmas decor, go in December---it is so beautiful!

But, Prez's day would probably be really REALLY uncrowded....

Nope. The week of Presidents' day is one of the busiest times to go. Not as busy as Christmas - New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving or July, but busier than almost any other time.

I picked mid-December in the poll. It's my favorite time of year to go.

December for us. We've done May and it was too stinkin' hot and muggy for our liking, more so than late September. Ditto on June and July. We've done July and it was ridiculously hot and crowded.

Ack!!

I voted for mid-December, but no way would I want to face the crowds after December 16 or 17. And the week of December 25 to January 3 is the most crowded week all year.

But, of course, if that were the ONLY time I could go......I just might go....:)

I would choose early may also. Unfortunatley I can't go then. This would have been our prefered time also. But we wanted to have all 3 of our kids with us this time. DS is 23 and is able to go. DD is 15. It means taking her out of school. We are prepared to do this. She has an IEP so her classes are a bit different in her case. Other DS is 21. He graduates on the 21st of May. He was not able to do the regular HS graduation so he wants to be at this one. Has worked hard to keep up his GPA and wants to recognize it. Don't want to go any further into the hot weather so the 22nd to the 29 is it for us. Good luck in figureing out which week is best for you. I like the flowers in may anyway.

I too voted for mid-December. Based on crowd size, park offerings, and temperatures it's a great time to be at WDW. President's Day is very crowded, anytime you get a three day weekend at the start of the Spring Break Season you're going to get people. As well May & June are probably more crowded than the mid-December time slot as many people in December are saving their vacation time for the Holiday travel period. June and May are also big Grad times, and travel times.

Also when I was thinking of what extra is going on in the parks compared to the other times you listed December again comes up as the big winner. There is just a ton of activity going on in the parks at that time.

Also I am not one for intense Florida heat, ironic no? And the temps, while varied in December are still cooler and will keep you all from getting exhausted faster. I tend to like a cooler touring season just so I have more energy and less frustration with the people around me. Heat tends to make tense situations worse and a teeming mass of people in the sun is just no fun.

Okay, enough with the book. That's how I voted, lol.

I said June because they'll have their Summer parades and FW shows running. The tour groups won't be there yet, no Pop Warner, and the hours will be fantastic. As long as you don't mind the heat, that'd be my choice.

I would love to go in December but it can be busy with shortened hours. However, the Christmas decorations would be nice to see, so that'd be my second choice.

May would be my third choice, but it's a good one, IMO. You have the flower show at Epcot. The crowds aren't as bad as June (although we had NO problems with crowds in late June this year-with FPs and planning).

I would go mid december, less crowds and christmas decorations are up.
