I'm sure this question is asked a lot, but........

For the first time EVER, I have the option of taking a vacation to disney whenever I choose. We have been before (mid September, it was super hot but we saw all the Halloween decorations and went to the MNSSHP - is that the right acronym?, and August, again really hot). I would prefer more tolerable weather this time (but still pool weather) and we already have a vacation planned over Christmas (although I would never go during those crowds). So when would you go? Why? I would like to stay ate monorail resort (we've already stayed at the grand Floridian, it was nice but very expensive, I'd like to save some $$ this time). We have 2 children (dd is 7 and ds is 4) And wanted to cash n some airmiles for this trip too (if that matters lol). Thanks so much for any advice you can offer!

I went one time in early May (3-17) and the weather was perfect, low crowds, and best of all the flower festival was on at Epcot. That was amazing. The kids loved all the extra things to see and do at Epcot at that time. The rides had almost no lines at all the parks. We also got the spring savings rate at that time.:yay:

Thanks for this! We're looking at may 2014, and after stinking hot, and thunderstorm afternoon August, this sounds heavenly!

Question....does the flower festival run all spring? Or just certain dates?

We like late April early May or October November, just avoid the holidays. Weather is usually good but can get colder at night, or you could bake all day and night. Avoid Food and Wine and you will see much smaller crowds. I love food and wine so I dont actively try to miss it.

I went this past April, crowds were minimal. Weather was nice and warm ( I like hot so it was perfect for me) have been in November it was warm ish but needed a warm jacket some days and for sure at night. It was November so it fell in the Christmas theme, it was busy but not as bad as during December. If you go the last few days of October to the first week of November you can get both Halloween and Christmas :) I have friends doing that this year... Last year they got 20 pounds of candy during Halloween. Happy to report they shared most if it with a few little kids that were needing some assistance getting around the park to get their own candy ;)

We used to go in February. We have gone in late April several time and most recently have been going in August lately (1 week to go!). All times are great (with being Disney and all), but each have their (dis)advantages. In Feb/early March the fares were reasonable just avoid Presidents Day. In April we hit two heat waves were the temperatures we as if it was August so we decided to take two weeks in August these last few trips (DH didn't want to take the children from school for two weeks in April, but we can take 2 weeks in August). We found the crowds manageable in August, but you have to love the heat and have maximum flexibility in your planned "schedule" for lots of pool/resort or Water Park breaks. We also like the Tstorms since they chase all of the park goers away, we put on ponchos and hit the rides.

No matter when you go, you will have a great time! Enjoy!

There isn't a month that I haven't been..that said, I love April/May I think best. :)

We love early October (CDN Thanksgiving) and the last two weeks of April (unless Easter is involved). I think I prefer October, only because the crowds were way less than April - and that's with April crowds still being pretty great.

We like October because it's still nice and hot in the day, but cools down to a nice temp at night. We also love MNSSHP, and the fact that the day of a party MK is practically empty! My only complaint about going in October, is that we LOVE Epcot and it was SO busy because of the Food & Wine Festival. We are not drinkers, and my DH/DS are picky eaters so we don't partake at all. It made touring around the world showcase pretty unbearable. The actual buildings/rides/attractions around the world weren't busy, but it was a pain walking through the crowds.

We like April for the garden festival in Epcot. It's amazing to see what they do with the topiaries. The weather is great - hot with little humidity. We did have a wicked rain storm on our last day this past April (which sucked because it was our last day and the rain lasted most of the afternoon and into the night). The crowds are still minimal (provided you stay away from Easter), but MK is still a little busy for my liking... but that was also coming off our trip in October where we walked on most rides.

If I had the choice to go *anytime* I would go in October to take advantage of Halloween AND *The Epcot Food and Wine Festival* ... so awesome.

Of all the times I've been there, the weather in May was best.Mid 80's but without the humidity of Aug-Sept.
When we used to stay onsite,we liked Ak but preferred Wilderness lodge because it was so easy and quick to get to our fav park,MK.The boat's were so quick there and back.
