When would you go next summer (2013)? Any openings/construction to worry about?

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I've been here. We are starting plans for a trip next summer after having not been with the kids for a couple years, and I'm wondering if there's much of a difference in crowds the first week of June vs. later in the summer. Dh is a school teacher so we cannot go during the school year. I'd prefer the lower temps at the beginning of June than those in July or August but I'd be swayed to go then if the crowds are better. We could only go through the 1st week of August as school starts after that.

Also, is there any big construction or openings slated for 2013? Thanks!

What opens in 2013 is not known, but unlikely to be anything close to big compared to what is happening now.

There are often some rehabs finishing in early June. But after July 4th almost nothing until the end of August.

If DH is a school teacher that presents a problem with June. If he is out that means kids are out too. AP holders can clog the days in June before they get blocked for Summer. This makes June a strange months. Some days are good with APs blockes and kids still in school. Some days bad with the opposite. Overall I find June a good month to visit.

If you wait until late, about mid July to mid August are busy but nice on weekdays. Long hours so you can nap during the midday heat or sit by a pool, using the early and late hours in the park. Early and late temperatures are nicer and crowds are less.

We were there last July and the temps never got out of the 70's except for 1 day in the low 80's. The weather was delightful!
