When will we be set free?

Seeing as how parts of the country appear to be on the down swing at the moment while other parts are still on the up hill portion, When do you think we will be set free and will a second wave occur as a result that might be severe enough to trigger a second lockdown?

I think we should be off social distancing when numbers are low enough that we can do testing and isolation for the hot spots that will occur. But given the moaning and grouching of the usual self centered types, I'm not at all confident we won't botch this.

That said, I'm voting for what I'm hoping for. The earliest possible and no second wave.

I don't believe this is a one size fits all scenario. I do believe some areas will begin to open up in May. Will hospitalizations and deaths increase? We don't know. It will depend on several variables.

I think by June 1st things are going to have to at least start re-opening. Every day that this goes on is sinking our country further.

NYC schools usually get out the end of June and they are out until September.

I voted May 15 with new orders because my county’s current orders expire May 10th but they have already said that is when new orders will be issued.

Who knows what will happen. I trust Governor Hogan (Maryland) more than a lot of other politicians.

All I know is I’m sticking with May. If it doesn’t re open then. We’ll have millions just ignoring it anyways and revolt. No Governor wants to deal with that.. So sometime in May. Life goes on.

There has been small business open that isn’t supposed to near here. Some police chiefs won’t enforce stuff like that due to constitutional concerns. But mainly just going out and socialising anyways. I mean the first couple weeks kids around here did stay in mostly. Now. They are all out playing basketball or catch getting ready for summer baseball. I see already folks are just moving on the best they can. I guess that’s what I mean more than like going to a mall that isn’t open. Places that are open is pretty full with people just needing something to do.

.... and the protests at state capitols and such won’t be far off. That’s why come May. I don’t see many people. Especially those out of work tolerating this much longer. Every Governor knows that. There is a fine line to walk. And duration of this. They’ll have to navigate.

I just drove my kid 45 minutes away just for a change of scenery - literally - because the cops were making sure no one unadvisedly tried to get out of their cars and breathed the fresh air on foot even with masks on. :/
That town will be boarded up forever if this keeps up.

Exactly the opposite here, I feel people who walk in public, e en in the middle of empty streets without a mask are risking getting shot. However, we are in a huge hotspot and can see how bad things can get. My family of 7 can’t go out together for fear of getting yelled at. Even in New York. Which is the hottest spot of all. Just this morning it shows people jogging in Central Park with no masks. That was a live morning show at 0800 hours.

There is no order that you can’t go out for a walk or this or that anywhere. And even the mask orders aren’t enforceable. They can say to wear them.... but In the end. You can’t actually be made to. Now. I’m all for people doing what they want as to wearing them. Free country. There may be some wear them all summer and that’s fine. I support that. I choose not to. But we all have different feelings as to our own safety.
As for the National Gaurd. For that to happen would be Martial Law. And I can assure you that will never happen.
Yes the military is being used for humanitarian efforts and medical. . But once that line is crossed and they actually arrested someone simply walking down the street. Look out. Time to call in the A team. Lol

The curve is flattening in many areas. It is on the news worth watching and reading. Other news does not want to report the positive news.
