The title says it all....

When I was at WDW in May, right before the opening, we drove around SSR and I really loved the feel of the place, but was taken back by all the unfinished buildings right across the street. Look right... all lovely, look left, construction site.. I know I know... lots has been said about it already.....

So I was wondering.. when are those buildings scheduled to be completed?

Thanks bunches.....

Laura,

I have seen some people stating they will begin opening in January... and other state they will be open around the end of this year. I believe there are 3 buildings there, and the estimate was they would open at the rate of one building per month.

I agree that the area will be more attractive once those 3 buildings are complete.

The buildings are indeed supposed to start opening one per month in Jan 2005. I don't have the map in front of me...but I believe there are 8 buildings...so as long as everything opens on time, it should be done by August.

I would think Phase 3 should be started by August though (far off to the right just as soon as you come in the gate).

When is SSR to be completely done? Anyone know? We would like to stay there, but I think we'll wait until it is finished. Thanks!

Hi,

We're just back from 6 nights in SSR and this is the latest info at hand....

Phase 1 will be open by end August. Phase 1 is considered to be the four buildings overlooking DTD and the main buildings and pool.

Phase 2 are all other buildings appearing on the current map.

The buildings marked 14 on the map (The Springs) according to our guide will all be open by November of THIS year.

The first being the building on the right (this is being painted at the moment!) being open in September, then next one Oct, then Nov.

The buildings marked 15 (The Paddocks - all around the lake) are opening from left to right from Dec 04 to April 05 (one a month).

Phase 3 (just announced) is considered to be where the current green villas around the course are and they will not be opening unitl 2007 and will consist of 7 more buildings.

Hope this helps!

I think that for those that do not have their own transportation that the buildings directly across from all the common areas will be very, very desirable. It appeared to me that ALL buildings will have a water view of some sorts, a lagoon, a pond or something. I like that idea.

The unfinished construction did not bother me at all when I was there earlier this month.

Ya know, that is alot of rooms. Is that main pool gonna be able to handle all those guests? I know there are quiet pools, but those that want to use the slide...

How does this compare again to OKW? Much bigger, isn't it?
