When will the 2017 DCL schedule be out?

We will be cruising this Oct 10th and we wanted to book a feb or march cruise 2017. Do you think the schedule will be out while we are on the cruise so we could book it then?

Anything is possible, but based on recent history of releases I would not expect 2017 itineraries to be available in October. You can book a new placeholder for $200.

As long as your next cruise is within 2 years of your onboard booking.

That's correct! DCL used to allow "dummy bookings" where you just chose a date as far out as possible with a low fare, then planned to move to a "real" date when those were released. This winter DCL started offering "placeholder" onboard bookings -- it has the 10% discount, reduced deposit and OBC attached but doesn't have a solid date. It must be used within 24 months of the date you book it onboard. Placeholders are subject to black-out dates like OBBs.

I just means On Board Booking.....so it's treated just like any other booking even though you don't techincally have a date selected. There are cruises, like ALL the just released NYC cruises that will not let you use for OBB credit. I think you still get the onboard credit (100-200) but you don't get the 10% discount I believe and I don't think you get the reduction in downpayment but I could be wrong.....

Jan to March will be out in October.
Up to August will be out March.
Post September May.

Bummer that DCL waits that long. DH and I already have a May 2017 cruise booked -- obviously not with the mouse.

Does that mean I can do the $200 placeholder and book ANYTIME in the next 24 months? Can you combine it with other discounts (like Florida resident rate for example?)

I just did the placeholder thing. I got 10 percent off, $200 OBC, and a reduced deposit. I paid 200$ onboard, then called DCL to convert it to a real booking when I got home. Easy! You do have 2 years to use it.
