We sail 5/13 and are under the 60 day mark......I have been checking their website daily to see if we have been assigned a cabin yet.....when can I expect that?

I would hope the later the better.. then maybe the Cat u booked will fill up and u could get upgraded to another cat ...
Hope it goes well for u ........

Ours was assigned when we booked, but we're cruising on DVC points. Perhaps that's a different situation.

I booked today and was assigned a cabin number.
I booked with a local travel agent.
We are always assigned a cabin number when we book.

I would agree with Hygiene99. I think the longer you are in limbo in GTY status the better the chances are for that upgrade.

Let us know when you know (and if you get that upgrade).

Good luck, and have a great cruise!

We booked online and were able to pick out a cabin right away. I like knowing where it is and was able to find out about that room early on. I hope you get upgraded since you have to wait to find out your room:sunny:

I booked directly with DCL so I don't know if that will increase my chances for an upgrade or not. No real rush to find out, I just kind of wanted to know where we were going to be on the ship!

I think booking with DCL directly could also be a factor. We're 2 for 2 with upgrades, both time booked GTY with DCL directly. I know that doesn't mean a thing for you, but we're keeping our fingers crossed again for 2005.

I am hoping pixie dust is scattered my way.....it is our first try with Disney and I will be fien for three nights in a cat 11...but if I could possibly be blessed by the DCL gods and be upgraded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just keep checking. My 60-out mark was last Wednesday and my (upgraded!) room for the May 8th cruise showed up on Monday of this week. Hopefully, you'll know by next week.

(we went from a cat 11 to a 9)

I would guess you are booking a room for 4 people. We are traveling with a group needing 4 cabins. All of us got our rooms assigned at booking except for the group with 4 people listed in a cabin. The reason is that there are a limited number of cabins that will accomodate 4. So, they wait to see what is available and then divvy out the rooms. The longer the wait doesn't necessarily mean the better chance of an upgrade. What does mean a better chance is when you booked and how many other 4 person cabins are needed.
If you're booking less than 4 in a room, never mind what I just said.

I booked in early Feb for 4/22 cruise and I recieved my info today ( Happy St. Patrick Day:bounce: ). Booked a Cat 11 stateroom, well got my stateroom number and I am now in a Cat 8 stateroom.

All four DCL cruise we knew our room number the day we booked. The first cruise we booked directly with Disney. Three of our past cruses we booked on board. We have also booked our next cruise on board before we left. We know our room number.

We had four in our cabin, booked through a travel agent 11 months in advance, and had a cabin assignment the minute we booked.
HOWEVER, one week before be left, Disney called our Travel Agent and told us we had been upgraded from category 10 to category 6.

ok - my cabin is still not assigned....I booked through DCL and now I am reading about the 5/1 cruisers getting their docs already and I haven't even been assigned a cabin for my trip!!
Should I be worried?

Although we know our number is there a site to check if we have been given an upgrade? We were given ours when we booked with or TA.
