I noticed that JetBlue has fares released up until 1/4/2011. We are taking a trip from 1/1 - 1/9.

When do you think we'll see fares beyond the current 1/4?

Thanks

The thread talks about fares for March travel. I'm looking for January. Do you till think it will be Sept.?

Yes. JetBlue's last release, earlier this month or late April, was for the period running from November 1, 2010 through January 4, 2011. They release fares in blocks like that, not day by day or a month at a time. Since they JUST opened new fares, it will be a while before they do it again.

But, why wait? If you're sure you're going, go ahead and buy the one-way tickets now. When JetBlue extends their schedule, buy your return fares. All their fares are one-way - there's no savings with round-trip purchases.

I second that. Plus if you wait too long your one-way ticket may cost you more than the price of the return ticket when it becomes available.

Does anyone know if it's a certain day of the week that they release the fares? I check everyday anyway, but it's definitely easier for me to remember to check on a weekday vs. a weekend.

Agreed. We're traveling December 30 - January 7, and I have our BUF/MCO flight booked. :)

No particular day, and to be completely honest, this forum is probably your best source for new release dates for the low cost carriers.

This is a great way to do it....however..I believe if you need to make any changes/cancellations for your dates you are now subject to two (2) penalties. (one for each reservation)

I just bought one way fares (down on JetBlue, back on Delta) because Jetblue didn't have the flight times I wanted... When I do this, I make sure to purchase travel insurance so I can roll the land and the air into it incase any changes/cancellations need to be made we are covered.

Not necessarily. I wrote to jetBlue with some concerns and this is something I addressed.

They told me that if you advise that you've got two separate itineraries for one trip, they will only charge one cancellation fee. Of course you'd have to call to make the change.

Call and confirm - because as with any company operating a phone-base customer service operation, you can get different answers.

I'm also waiting for the next "leg" of Jet Blue fares to be released. Got my trip down on SW today but we're flying home from Ft. Myers & would prefer a non-stop.

SW doesn't have non-stop from Ft. Myers to Buffalo, but Jet Blue does.

I booked our flight down on December 30 on jetBlue, but we're flying home on the 7th.

I REALLY wanted to book with jetBlue for the flight home, too. But jetBlue tends to be pricier than Southwest, and Southwest's fares were REALLY reasonable. I'm definitely of the mindset that if you see a reasonable fare within your budget - BOOK it. And that's what happened today with Southwest's fares.

And as much as most people prefer to stay as late as possible on departure day, I don't like getting home late. Just makes for a NASTY day after you get home. With Southwest, I'll be home by 2:30 - and that's a good thing.

We really want a non-stop & we're flying out of Ft. Myers instead of Orlando.

I hate to fly with a connection at that time of year because of issues that could happen with weather. At least if it's non-stop to Buffalo & the weather is lousy here I can be stuck in a place where I know I have accommodations instead of sitting in an airport for hours/days!

I guess I'll just wait it out. There always is the SW option, but we would probably drive to Tampa or back to Orlando for that.

I too am waiting for them to open up - I wet back ad looked through my bookings from the years before and I booked 1/24/2009 on 6/23/2008

I am watching jet blue everyday!!!

Just got an E-Mail that you'll be able to book through February 28th beginning on Monday, July 19 at 10am.

Happy flight hunting! :)

Oh great............I won't have access to internet until later in the evening after dinner.........UGH!

I also got the email about the new fares being released on Monday 7/19. As I recall it happens mid-morning, but I'll be checking from when I wake up.

I'll be booking also for another January trip. First trip w/o the kids!!:banana::cool1::cool1:

It makes me more tempted to get the true blue credit card to get 20,000 points. It says that you can get 2 round trip tickets for that amount of points but every flight I've seen for points are alot more than 5,000 per flight.

Just an fyi, when you get the card and make your first purchase it takes several weeks for the points to show up. We got ours back in April and the points just showed up a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping to be able to book at least one member of our family on points when fares come out Monday.
