When will airlines release fall '07 rates/specials?

Hi all,

We're planning a trip to WDW for late October and I was wondering when we can expect to see lower airfare rates than the defaults for that time of year. Some airlines don't even have schedules posted for that far in the future. Southwest, for example, currently only allows booking flights up to Aug. 24 '07.

Legacy carriers generally allow bookings and have schedules posted for 51 weeks in advance. Low cost carriers do not - that is part of how/why they are low cost.

You will continue to see seat sales and schedule chagnes from the legacy carriers at regular intervals until a few weeks before your flight. You could use a site like Travelocity.com's 'low fare alert' to see when prices drop, or SW 'ding' (although I have no idea about the actual mechanics of SW, never having flown with them)

What you really need to do is find a reasonable price for your right, and buy it when you see it. If you monitor fares for a few weeks, you will start to learn the 'right' price for your routing.

Thanks for the response. A reasonable fair from Denver to Orlando is around $200, so I'm watching prices for Oct to see when they get close to that mark. Right now they're closer to $300 for that time of year, which doesn't entice me at all to reserve the flights now.

United runs a lot of daily TED flights ORD-MCO, so you should definitely be able to find some kind of sale fare before October.

I got a great October rate of $27 through Airtran on 2/16(1 day sale). I am hoping that a great November rate may come out in the beginning of March.
