When do the last half of 2026 cruises drop?
I'm looking at the honolulu to Sydney, don't think I can swing the 2025 one in October as it's too close to my WDW visit in May and my work may not give me enough time off (even though I have long service it's still a lot for one year)

Just trying to plan.

Also for my placeholder, when does that need to be used? Is it 2 years after I sailed?

I can’t answer the question about when 2026 cruises will post, but I can tell you that your placeholder must be used for a cruise that embarks no later than two years after the date you bought it. The email confirmation should specify the exact date.

For planning purposes, the cruises for October 2025 dropped the week of June 24, 2024. Ie then, depending on status, the cruises could be booked on the appraise day in that week.

Great thanks bummer I can’t use my placeholder
It will have expired 1 month before the cruise

I’m assuming I just get a refund??

Or request it before expiration if there’s no chance you will use it.

In 2026, the Wonder arrives in Sydney on the 22nd October according to NSW Port Authority so they should leave Hawaii most likely on the 8th of October.

Your sailing needs to be completed within 2 years from the date you booked it.**

My mistake, the cruise just needs to start within 2 years of booking the Placeholder, not completed. We usually use ours within 6 to 12 months.

7 day cruise currently only has 1000 guests. They have reverted to only one dinner time and show. Australian cruises may not last too many years longer at this rate.

They need to send the magic to get repeat guests. Australians love disney. But Australians are also well travelled. They arent going to repeat cruises on the same ship with all the same restaurants and shows when there is so much of the world to see. The ship needs to be changed up.

The ship isn't the issue, the itineraries are.
2-3 days isn't enough and the 7 day ones only have one stop which isn't a popular place either.
I'd like to see more going around Australia with stops in and around Australia or a proper one to the pacific with multiple stops.

Ships in the USA have the same routes for many years - granted there are more to choose from but with the Aussie dollar being so weak the cost of the cruise is expensive for what you're getting.

I wanted to book a few but just can't afford over $1K a day

It was the wrong time of the year to do a 7 day cruise. Every single state has school term and you cannot legally take your children out of school without a reason so unless your children were under 5, few people were going to pick this cruise. It was also quite expensive when you weren't getting anything extra like a formal night on board. This was one of the few cruises for the season that have so few guests

We did a 2 day sailing (the first one a few weeks ago) and it was wonderful but too short. We're doing a B2B later in the season for days on board and it was cheaper to book the 2 cruises than book the 7 night that is currently happening now. For us, we don't get out at the ports but I agree, like most cruise ships here, the port choices are poor and this is because they're such short sailings so they can't go anywhere too far. At least they're doing away with the 2 night cruises after this year which are too short.

Where are you from? Because it isn't illegal in Australia to take your kids out of school.
Most states allow it with advance reason, we always take our kids out of school in NSW for vacations and have never ever had an issue with it.
Even with formal nights, you aren't really getting anything "extra" for it. You can dress formally or not, nothing else is done for it other than a few photos that they do most other nights anyway.

NSW. Perhaps it depends on the school? I know the schools we've been at, family holidays aren't a reason to remove your children from school. Especially for a week. You might be allowed a day or there, otherwise you'll get a warning for it. It might depend if you're private or public and high school makes a significant different. Right now for example, it's HSC time so no one would be taking their Year 12s out.

Yes but Formal night is usually fun with photos and the characters meeting in their formal outfits. I think DCL choosing not to offer extras for Halloween and Christmas as they do in the US is also causing a lack of sales. Most people I have spoken to have commented that all the sailings are 'the same' so there is no point is going again or booking multiple sailings in a season for most people. They need to encourage people to come back and they need to give them a reason to do so. Many families we have spoken to have said they'd book again if they did a proper Halloween on the High Seas or Christmas Sailings that weren't the two just around Christmas

maybe, but it shouldn't it's all under the NSW state govt requirements.
We typically go for 4-5 weeks and it's no issue at all.
