When will 2006 cruise points be posted?

We're considering booking a 3 day cruise for Jan. 2006. Do any of you DVC veterans know when those points will be posted, of if they're available now- where I could find them?

In the last couple of years, the upcoming years' non-DVC point requirements were made available in the fall, usually around the end of September.

That is not correct. In the past years, the following years' cruise points have been released to MS around March and usually are up on the website by about mid-April typically. Remember, we are already within the 11 month period for the January 2006 cruises--this is always a source of frustration for those who wish to do point cruises in January.

I know at times in the past MS has been able to reserve at 11 months out but before the actual points table came out. I've seen it reported that the few that did so were committed to the new points requirement even if they were more than expected. I too believe that the table is usually out by March to early April.

Maybe in some specific areas, but not overall. The Alaska cruises went down several years in a row but have edged up the last few. Even though I understand the process and limitations, I'm still amazed at the number of points for the DCL, CC and DC options. It's like a car dealership putting a dealer sticker on a car and marking it up 33% while another dealership across town doesn't. Too bad, the program has such potential. If only the DVC execs had the brass one's to stand up for the DVC members and what's best for them instead of lining Disney's pockets.

They will be posted as soon as Disney settles on how much more to charge DVCers for a DCL exchange (next year compared to this year). They probably can't decide should it be 20% or should it be 30%???

Historically, they have been posted in the spring. I would expect it sometime soon.

I spoke with the DVC rep on our Thanksgiving Cruise 2004 and he mentioned that he would be surprised if in the future the number of points to cruise was reduced. He said DVC with it's 95K+ members is starting to have some influence on pricing. The AP discount is a perfect example.
