When will '09 dates be released?

Considering the drought currently taking place in the Southeast, a Chattahoochee River cruise would be kind of dangerous right now.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Okay, yeah, I meant Alaska... Brain in another part of the country with a friend right now...
Be rather tought to sail out of Atlanta! :rotfl:

:goodvibes

Well, if the 2009 stuff will be out 1st 2 wks of December that means, theoretically, that we could know something by next Saturday !! WOOHOO!!

Here is what I learned when we were on the Wonder Nov18-21. We booked a 7 day dummy date to be moved to 2009.

The TA(cast member) booking on ship said the 2009 dates will definitely be out the 1st two weeks of Dec and would definitely not be doing the Mediterranean or the Mexican Rivera then. She would not give any hint as to what the itinerary would be but did confirm what it would not be.

Here's hoping for Bermuda or Alaska!!!!!!
Also our wait staff said that they were going to convert all of the 4 nite Wonder trips to Double dips and do away with at sea days.- Two days at Castaway Cay -VS. 1 day and one sea day- My vote Double Dip -me!!!!!!

Thank you for that update, its consistent in the message we are now getting.

Yes we could be a week away from some release of 09 dates, maybe not all, but at least some.

I was hoping one of you could help me...

I was planning on doing a land and sea or shorter cruise on spring break 09. I'm not sure on the dates of our spring break yet. Would it be best to book what I think would be our breaks early and make a change later?

I see that December seems to be the earliest that I can book. Do you save that much booking early? I haven't done a Disney cruise for about 4 years! I can't wait to book it!

Thanks so much!

The best prices are nearly always, as soon as a cruise is released for sale, they operate a tier system, the first percentage at one price, then when sold out the next percentage a slightly higher price etc etc,.

Now the very popular cruises or holiday times might go up quickly, we have seen Magic summer specials sell out quickly within hours and price increases during the hour rather than day.

However, normal standard cruises say the Wonder 3/4 and the Magic 7 day Eastern Western, will sell at a steady speed, and shouldn't go up in price quickly.

An option always is to book on release, pay your deposit, and then change or cancel, if your dates are different, or the price did fall.

I know people have re-booked on ship and canceled to get on board credit or discount, and on the odd occasion DCL offers a discount to a cruise people have canceled and re-booked.

Andrew....thanks for all the summaries.....it is getting close now to release dates....let's all keep our fingers crossed they will indeed release info within the next two weeks!!!

Hopefully we are just a week away now, -we are told early December, well next Saturday is the 1st,

Hopefully that will be a start of the release of 2009 dates, maybe the standard 3/4 night Wonder trips and the 7 night Magic ones, but will the, ''Host a DCL party'' on January 26th, I think thats a clear hint something special will be released about then, most likely the special Summer Magic trips.

I wonder if anyone off the MAGIC today has any more news?

Thank you for the laugh!!:rotfl2: I had to look at a map.....lol...j/k

Andrew,
Thanks for the advice. I will probably look into booking early.:goodvibes

No problem, I would always recommend booking at the earliest point, as you have nothing to loose, bar a little bit of interest on your deposit, you can always get it back, or swap dates,

It will be most likely be the cheapest rate anyway, but, if it isn't you can cancel.

Andrew,

I was thinking the same thing about Jan 26th, but the more I think about that I am now thinking it is just a big sales presenation to get people thinking about cruising.

Hi,

it could be but the time of this is a big coincidence as the repos and Mexico trips went on sale on January 31st in 2007, with an announcement just before.

I'd guess that it will be announcement day - but they'll do the sale same way as last time, like you said here.

I can't imagine any other reason to have it January 26th - it's rather an odd date... being a Saturday and all. I'd bet that they do the announcement that day, but the sales on Friday February 1st.

If I were a betting woman, that is (and I am at times!) :goodvibes

Agree I think there will be an announcement about then, ( we will know here first though!) but as a weekend the sale date will be later for an special cruises.
