When will '09 dates be released?

Freeport was not a pretty place. Where we docked, was like a ship graveyard. There was even a big red boat there. Not pretty. Smelly cabs to the beach or any kind of shopping. I would not go there again.
:rotfl2: I have pictures of that boat when we docked there. There was absolutely NOTHING attractive about that port.

TO SUMMARIZE -what we know, from the posts on this thread.

One of the other talking points is the longer than usual dry dock for the magic in 2008.

2008 Dry-dock Plans
The Magic will be in dry-dock September 6-27, 2008.

Now some have mentioned including the Dispodacst team this longer dry-dock might be to assist with modifications to the pool areas for a possible Alaska trip.

DIS-PODCAST

Say Alaska Summer 2009

DCL AGENTS ON BOARD

Say cruises will start to be released early December, and the ship will be closer to its home than the previous two years. Hint Bermuda

RESPECTED TRAVEL AGENTS

Have sent e.mails saying Caribbean.

CAPTAIN TOM

Said in the Med a strong hint for Northern Europe.

RELEASE DATES

Have usually have started in November for the first part of the following year, say January to April standard 3/4 Wonder cruises, and standard Magic cruises for 7 nights.

If we are overdue, conjecture, DCL is negotiating now with Port Canaveral , they are unhappy with costs and restrictions on the port calls to keep their pier exclusive to DCL. Miami port has said soon they will sign up a big cruise line, Would DCL move to Miami or Tampa, its this a reason for delay.

PAST YEARS
The Special summer cruises have come out later,

FOR 2005 May 5th 2004
FOR 2007 April 3rd 2006
FOR 2008 January 31st 2007.

The summer 2006 cruises were double dips in the Caribbean.

Front runners:-

Alaska
Carribean special trips maybe Bermuda.

Outsdie runner

Europe but a lot of people have recently discounted the Med or Northern Europe now.

YES WE NEED MORE REPORTS! PLEASE.

On ship in the Med I was given the impression of Northern Europe, but that appears to have gone cold, and it seems there are two front runners

Alaska as sponsored by the Dis podcast.
Nearer to home, Caribbean, special trips maybe Bermuda, as sponsored by leading T/A's and on ship.

I spoke briefly to Captain Tom last week. He was very nice, charming, and told me what I was going to ask, before I even got the chance :teeth:....He does read this board, and knew exactly who I was..

He winked and confirmed nothing. I asked questions, but no concrete answers...

Well that's good to know Mommasita! :)

At least they know we're interested!!

Not a single 'hint' couldnt you bribe him?:thumbsup2
Did you ask him if he prefers 'BURMUDA shorts' or baked 'ALASKA'?:rotfl2: ( or did he say he would be able to pop home for lunch on the summer Magic cruise of 09?)

:lmao: :lmao:

He said that if he gave me "ANY" hints, they would all over the DIS in seconds :rolleyes1 ..I tried to act innocent, but he laughed his head off. He truly is a funny man, with a great sense of humor. I mentioned Bermuda being easy if they cruised out of New York, no reason to fly. He then mentioned my husband working for the airlines, so no sweat for us, and I was  that he new that. He then referred to the DIS being a tell all..

They do get most of their ideas from here, as well as the comment cards. They are not overlooked....

Well you tried, I thought he was a big softies for attractive Canadians, he must know of your power here as a moderator.

New York and Bermuda would be very popular. and great advertising for DCL.

I was looking at the Bermuda cruise port website today, no clues bar they want to expand their business considerably in 2008 and 2009 for new cruises lines, other ships have increased the frequency that they call.

It is supposed to be one for the most expensive cruise ports to call at with a high per person charge, that might put DCL off.

But one thing keeps coming back recently, ''closer to home''

I do think Captain Tom should tell us, as we could all keep a secret !

If any Disney "Admirals" are reading . . .

"Europe! Europe! Europe!"

or, at least, put us out of our misery!

I knew that they would not give up any info. LOL
But thanks so much for trying mammasita!! :thumbsup2

That's a little weird that he would know your husband works for an airline! He meets thousands of people a week and remembers personal information about people here on the DIS boards!? Strange!

Thanks for trying mommasita! I'm happy to know that Disney pays that much attention to the boards and comment cards. They truly do want to make our lives more magical don't they!!!:wizard:
