When & where to purchase annual pass

I have decided to purchase the 2 park annual prefered pass special, buy 1 get one for 1/2 price. I was thinking of waiting untill we arrived at the parks to get it. We will be arriving on Sat. 12/28, is buying at the gate quick & easy, or would I be better off ordering them online before we leave? Thanks

Jacee I would go ahead and get my pass's now. You walk pass the main ticket booth and into the line then you have to hang a left and go get your pic's made for your AP and sometimes that takes several minutes. It would just take you outta that first line of buying them. Not to mention this may be an internet only buy so check and make sure you can get the same deal in the parks. It only takes 10 days at the most for them to come. I ordered mine and go them in 7 days so I think 1 would be a safe bet. If your worried you could opt for speedy shipping, but I would'nt with this much time to go. Look forward to seeing you there.

I'm going to Universal in July--can I take advantage of this deal and not activate the annual passes until July 2003?

I would give them at a call and make sure but normally that's not a problem. Sometimes they do put an activation date on AP's with some specials so I'd call to be sure it's not dated.

The passes usually need to be activated within a certain number of days after puchase...that was the way it was when we got our AP's last year...and it wasn't six months later...more like a month later...doublecheck before you buy so that you are not disappointed with passes that are not able to be activated when you arrive.

I actually called before ordering the AP's for my July trip and the person told me there were no dates anywhere--they can be used whenever you want. In other words they will expire one year from date of first use whenever that is!

Technically, AP vouchers are good for 30 years, unless the vouchers have a specific expiration date (like special AAA deals). If you activate the AP and get your mugshot taken, it's good for 1 year from the activation date.

Lets say I use my AP on Jan. 1st, 2003, does this mean it will expire on Jan 1st 2004 or Dec. 31, 2003 ?
