I turned 29 on Monday, and I had a big, "man I'm getting old" moment on Saturday. We had a neighborhood garage sale, in addition to DS's clothes and toys, I had a bunch of my clothes for sale. My mom finally made me take the rest of my "stuff" out of my old closet at her house (yearbooks, pictures, graduation cap and gown-what do you do with those things anyhow???) She also gave me my 8th grade graduation dress that has been hanging there for 15-16 years. It was black on top with a white and black polkadotted drop waist, big polka dot bow on the side (this was 1988...) I put a tag for 75 cents on it, thinking a little girl might want it for a dress up/play dress or something. These 3 teenaged girls were looking through the clothes and were FIGHTING over this dress! Exclaiming "this is really from the '80's I bet!" Well the girl who "won" the dress came over to pay for it and asked me if it felt weird to have old fashioned clothes come back in style again
I went on to tell her that it was a genuine 1988 dress and I wore it in eigth grade with my hair french braided with a big bow at the bottom of the braid
I remember when bell bottoms came back in style when I was in high school (early '90's) I would have probably done the same thing if I had found some at a garage sale...
So when was your,"I'm getting old" moment???
