When using the dining plan, do you order the most expensive thing?

When I posted this, I only did it out of fun because as I was looking at the menus I was also looking at the prices and I realized "hey, I can order that no matter how much" and it was fun.

Now, it's not so fun.:rotfl::rotfl:

Well, other folks here are havin' fun criticizin' your choice, so don't ruin it for them. ;)

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I see little point in doing this, I choose the dining plan on occasion because of the convenience but not to try to wring every cent out of the plan. I also want to eat the often over-rated filets at every restaurant because they are the most expensive.

When I go out to eat, even outside of Disney, I go to enjoy the meal which means I really don't pay all that much attention to the price of dish, I pay more attention to the description, ingredients and what the server/chef recommends.

It's still fun!!! We had free dining once and I totally thought about what we could eat to maximize the plan. I know we ordered more than we normally would have got because of it being "free".

Yes, I absolutely do 'price up' when I'm On the DDP. I wouldn not order something I didn't want, but if I like the looks of a lot of things on the menu, I decide which one to get by which one costs more.

I do counter service the same way. My family knows all the best 'deals' for CS meals, and frequently, my DW and I will get 2 meals, and share them with our DS and DD. This lets them use their kids credits for a breakfast at the Pop.

My favorate CS is Wolfgan Puck Express in DDT. You can get a decent sized 'personal' pizza, a drink, and a creme brulee for 1 CS credit. 2 of those, and that feeds my family of 4 with leftovers.

For us, the Dining plan is way too much food anyway. We've always ended trips with unused CS and snack credits. We'll usually end up carrying 4-5 fruit bowls or other snacks onto the plane with us.
