When to visit DLP? late Dec or early Jan

We have a choice of visiting DLP from 16th - 23rd Dec or from 5th to 12th Jan. Does anyone have have any advice regarding crowd levels at these time. We visiting Disneyland California last year from 25th to 31 Dec. Whilst I love Disneyland anytime, the crowds were hideous. I don't want a repeat of that experience.

Id go for the Jan dates as Christmas week at Dlp sounds hectic. You could look at the December trippies to get an idea. Id avoid weekends too if possible.

There will be less people the 5-12/01 as schools have gone back and holidays over (except Spain that go back on the 9/1)

Saying that I have been before Christmas the past 2 years and it is bearable before Boxing day. It's the week between Christmas and New Year that gets really packed and NYE is mega busy. But if you have never been and have the choice I'd go for Jan.

As already mentioned, the week between Christmas and New Year is extremely busy. I'd visit in early January. If you're early enough, it should still be the Christmas season which means you should get to see Fantillusion.

I think Christmas season ends on the 6th of January.

Ends on the 8th this year according to DCP forum
and there's a rumour that Fantillusion won't be showing after summer

If Fantillusion isn't running, you'd imagine they'd have some alternative. Hopefully something new but you can guarantee it'll be something from another park.
