When to Start Looking?

Dh and I are seriously considering purchasing, but wanted to take a trial run and rent some points first to make sure it is our "cup of tea". When should I start looking for rental points for a Oct '06 vacation at BWV or BCV? I know that is a popular time and popular resorts. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Reservations for October, 2006 may be made beginning in November, 2005. To reserve at that time, you will need to find an owner at the resort where you wish to stay, as other owners can't make that reservation until 7 months in advance.

If you know your dates, resort and room type desired, it can't hurt to get everything lined up in advance and then let the member make your reservation right as the 11 month priority begins.

That's what I'd do to be sure of getting the resort, room type and dates I prefer.

But be sure your dates are firm and that you understand the member's cancellation policy. Most members consider renting a non-refundable transaction, but will let you reschedule within certain limits if the need arises.
