Inspired by the RSVP thread... when are you/did you send out your invites? I've heard everywhere from 2-6 months out?

I sent mine just over 2 months out......and I asked for the rsvps to be returned 1 month prior to the wedding date so that any slackers would have time to get theirs in!:thumbsup2

I sent mine 3 months before with the rsvp 2months before, mostly because you have to pay the final beo 1 month before the wedding! And trust me few rsvp on time:confused3 and that gives you a little wiggly room!

I've read you should mail them four to six weeks prior to the wedding. I just don't think that's enough time for even an at-home wedding.

You really should do it based on wherever your wedding is taking place. When their headcount is required, do it a week or two (three to be safe) prior.

For a destination wedding, the earlier, the better.

I'm mailing my invitations out hopefully next week for a September 21st wedding. It may seem a little early, but I worry about the headcount, so I want it sooner than later.

I'm planning on sending mine out in January (my wedding is in April) and asking for them back in late feb/early march. That way there is plenty of time for the missed deadline to track everyone down.

We just mailed ours this week for our September 30th wedding. We set our RSVP date as August 1st, so we have time to chase down the non-responders in time for our final headcount/payment deadline.

That is a great idea -- I thought I was planning a little early -- We are sending ours out mid August for a December wedding and having the RSVP back by Oct 11-13th..

We figured with Final payment due a month in advance this gives us that wiggly room, especially since our guest list has risen to over 150.. :scared1: :scared1:
