When to purchase park tickets?

We have a trip planned for May 2022, off site. With the release of the packages and tickets for 2022 are there any benefit to purchasing tickets now or later? I already have the money for tickets saved. Just wondering if I'm missing something and if there might be a reason I should wait on pulling that trigger. I know you need tickets to make park reservations but I'm not quite to that stage in my planning. Not that I haven't been thinking about it

I'd wait.
Simply because, (even if there MIGHT be a price increase before nearer to your trip,) it is far easier to NOT have to try to get a ticket refund (etc.) for unexpected closures.
Nobody has any idea what will or won't happen with this or any future pandemic restrictions.

I have bought mine (UK tickets so maybe different) offered by Disney and they came including Covid insurance so refundable if not used.

I've already booked my park days for July/August 2022. Didn't expect it to be available this far out.

They used to give very clear notice, days in advance, then a day in advance, then no notice. However, there are usually rumblings and rumors on these boards and other sites gradually increasing in intensity as we approach the increase, so keep in touch.

I'm going back and forth for December 2022 (I don't buy through Dis though) and I am more likely to order and go for a refund than risk a price increase.

I always like to book as soon as possible because the refund through Disney is very easy. The deposit is small and everything is fully refundable usually within 30 days of the trip.

Generally speaking, tickets bought separately are non-refundable, though they will hold value towards a future trip if unused. Some of the authorized resellers have varying refund policies so you might want to check those.

I know if you do a package through Disney everything is refundable. I don't know about the timeshare part as I've never done that. Hoping to try it for our next trip but either way you can get your tickets separately and that way you can lock in your park passes.
