When to order DDE question regarding expiration date?

Here is our situation: We will be at WDW from February 19 - 25 '06. I already have my AP and would like to order the DDE card. In '07, we will again be at Disney for a couple of days before a DCL cruise which departs on Feb. 17. I think I have read that the pass is activated as soon as you order it, so if I ordered it now, it would expire before our '07 dates. I have also read that you have to order the DDE ahead of time - that it can't be done onsite. How would I go about ordering a card that will get me through our '06 and '07 trip? Thanks!

Would also like to know, I have the same problem. Would it work if I ordered the pass a few days before I left, and just picked up a temp pass in WDW?

When you call to order, the CM will tell you what day to call for an expiration date of Feb. 2007.

I called on Nov. 4 for mine, I wanted it to expire Dec. 2006, the CM said if I ordered it on the 4th it would expire Nov. 06, if I waited & ordered on Nov.7th it would expire Dec. 06.

What a coincidence- I called the exact same day as you, also wanted it to expire in December and was told the same thing. It's seems they are very good about telling people this information. I didn't even have to ask. The CM asked when we were going and then suggested I call back on Monday to get the extra month out of it.
