When to make ressies?

We are planning a family trip, either the end of July, or the beginning of Aug 2004. We will be needing 4 rooms, (2 sets of connecting rooms, hopefully) most likely at a mod. What would be the best time frame for making the reservations? Also, do they need to know exactly who will be in each room, or can they work with the total number of adults and children to figure out the price? (We will have 10 ad, 5 children under 17 and 1 infant) My biggest concern is getting everyone in the family to decide on what we want to do in a timely fashion! If I can say "A decision needs to be made by Christmas so we can be sure to get what we want" maybe we'll get the ball rolling!:p

I'm sure I have other questions, but can't seem to think of them just now! Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance to everyone who seem to know everything about WDW!:D

Make your ressies as soon as you are set on your dates and where you wish to stay. You can always apply a discount code later or make changes to the existing ressies. You will need to make a deposit equal to one night's stay for each room at the time the reservation is made. Some resorts fill up early and connecting rooms go very quickly in the AllStar resorts.
